Aw, thank you all! You're so sweet. I was so nervous about posting my pictures but I didn't have to be. :)

I will exchange the skirt for a bigger size. I'm in love the color, so I hope it helps.

I agree on the tucked in, I didn't really like it but was trying to think of way to avoid it looking too straight.

I'll definitely try a pair of darker wash skinnies. I have tried the JCrew Matchsticks and they fit pretty well, just still wasn't convinced this style was for me. But I might have to give them a second look.

Angie, the jeans are Dollhouse. I was being cheap when I wanted to try skinnies, so I looked at Macy's Juniors department. :-/

Thanks again!

~Lori

Welcome Lori! Congrats. You did it and posted! You have great gams and the gals have you on route. Here’s my 2 cents:

o	Fab jeans fit. What brand are they? Get a pair without the bleached whiskers and they’ll look even better.
o	black top is perfect
o	red skirt has great potential. Go up a size and have the waistband adjusted to fit.
o	The yellow top looks really pretty with the purple cardigan and I like it best un-buttoned – gives you just enough shape. It does not look good tucked in so keep the look voluminous and flowing.
o	Try tunics as Tanya has suggested.

Lori,
I agree that the yellow silk top is a great color--and I really like it with the lavender sweater. Like the others, I think that the yellow top doesn't show off your figure alone, but with the cardigan you get a great effect.

The skirt is also a great color so I think you should try the larger size and see if that fits better.

Hi Lori ans welcome! You have a beautiful smile!

I agree that the skirts were really made for you. You can try the geranium skirt a size up to avoid the whiskers and if needed take it in the waist. That might achieve a smoother effect. The yellow top is very pretty and it looks great with the cardi (love that color combo). I think it's great as a layering piece, but I wouldn't wear it on it's own because we wouldn't be able to see how tiny your waist is.

The skinnies fit you well, and it's a great start. I would try a more even, darker wash without that bleaching effect at the hips. And I wouldn't wear anything tucked in. For the tops over, you can go longer - tunics and such, around mid-thigh, or shorter ( but still a bit longer that your yellow top), right above the base of the zipper, and scrunched. Here's Angie's post on this topic:

Hi Lori - congrats on your first post. You have a gorgeous body. You look wonderful in skirts. I do think the geranium one might be too tight with the whiskers. I find that I'm rarely happy in the long run with clothing that tends to whisker since then I have to tend to it after each wear and they look tired in the middle of the day. I love the skirt overall. The black top is great. The yellow one is a wonderful color - I like it best with the cardi buttoned so it can contain some of the "billow". I like you in skinnies but am a newbie to them as well so the experts can weigh in.

Lori,
I liked the yellow silk top with the cardi, both buttoned and unbuttoned, but I think you are right that, by itself, it is too boxy
I'm not sure about the skirt. Black top looked good
And I think the jeans were ok except not when you tucked them in so your feelings about a longer top were on the right path. ( I am just getting into wearing skinnies myself, and am also a pretty pear, and I haven't worn then tucked in)

Hello,

I'm finally being brave and making my first post. I recently made an order from J. Crew and received two items - the chino skirt in geranium and the yellow silk hammered top. I believe I'm a pretty pear, so I know the hammered silk top maybe a little boxy for me, so I tried it a few different ways, but I'm not quite sure if its right. Also, the skirt has a lot of whiskers, so I don't know if it means its too small. Should I go up a size? ... I also tried to experiment with skinny jeans but now that I see the pictures, I don't like the color. But if you could provide feedback on the fit, I would appreciate it. I would probably wear a different top with it, something longer. What do you think? I'm a little self conscious about my hips.

Here is the link to my pictures (excuse the hair! long day!)

Thanks for your help!
