I got a mini kit two years ago and made it last as long as I could. When I feel clothes are not making me happy, I always turn to my hair. It's so satisfying to change the color or the cut or both. Sal, I feel you on the lost watch. I remember when I moved 5 years ago, that the movers found a favorite pair of earrings in the couch cushions. And that when I was convinced I had lost my hearing aid last month and ordered a new one, I stuck my hand in the pocket of a coat I hadn't worn in a while and found the old hearing aid. Ordered a butterscotch Kit and Ace long quilted vest on sale, its in Finds in black, where it called my name.  Took me a year of looking and rejecting many other similar ones.  We are having a nice long ice storm so anticipating the poor UPS guys will deliver it when they start clearing the backlog.  Am wearing the wool Mosaic Aritzia scarf in navy and camel, arrived just in time to keep the drafts out. Seriously, I just snagged a sweater sleeve on a jagged piece of exposed wood framing in the shell of a laundry room yesterday while reviewing the plans for rerouting the dryer ventilation. In June I was home for the weekend hosting friends for a school reunion party - I had people staying and coming for drinks - it was quite madly busy.  My DH and son went away for a couple of nights (partly because they did not want "do you remember?" stories, and my son attended a teenage party - and there was a drama with my son's friend involving a trip to hospital, stitches and lots of phone calls amongst Mums about what had happened.  My son was not involved in the drama however amidst it all I "thought" I put my watch on charge, but ended up rushing out to the event without finding it, and then was very distracted for 24 hours.  But knew it was in the house. "Find my apple watch" said it was in my house... but I could not find it and of course the charge went flat.. I thought it would turn up at some stage, but after six months I have accepted it has gone....did it get put in the trash?  Did it get stolen from my house?  Am I completely mad - I honestly do not know! SoyaConcept Randi long quilted vest in black. Had this on my radar for some time and pounced when it went half price in January. I imagine this to be super useful across all wardrobe categories ( a goal of mine ). 2. Fenty Skin Care set - at the recommendation of DD who knows all things now . I LOVE it so far. The toner/serum thing is wonderful, as is the moisturizer. I'm very impressed and will definitely repurchase. 3. Briogeo Hair and Scalp set- also a DD recommendation. I wanted a scalp exfoliator and this set came a few other things. So far, so good. Passed long : 7 jackets - faux leather and denim, mostly. Outdated fits . Not wearing anymore and haven't in a few years. 2 hoodies - wrong colours/prints/fits and don't want them looking at me each time I open my closet. Too juvenile . 4 pair pants : 3 black random old office type pants and I pair Sanctuary cord joggers I could never figure out how to wear. 1 long cardigan - never worn, bad colour, not interested in this look now 1 merino sweater - never worn, too thin and classic in fit for my comfort level . Note to self to NOT even look at merino sweaters anymore. 1 well worn black sweater - tossed as it wasn't appropriate for donation - too badly worn and pilled to be presentable (why does this become noticeable all of a sudden? i.e. when you already have it on and are out of the house) 1 pair Sorel felt /faux fur tall winter boots - worn to death and now ratty looking - also tossed as not denotable. 17 pieces in total Looking for: 1. cream loafers or sandals 2. drapey black trousers - classic styling with a lot of slouch /length 3. cargo or parachute pants or jeans - updated styling ,no olive green 4. summer shorts, likely denim or chino in an updated silhouette - I'm done with the slim fit bermudas for now . 5. new pair of athletic runners - likely the old standby Asics. No nutty colours this time (in the theme of wearing more across pieces all categories ) Thoughts - It felt good not to be buying a bunch of clothes. Trying to stay focused via accountability to myself. and wearing what I have right now . Hoping to lose weight so holding off until that is accomplished. I did an online order for a pair of cream-ish western-ish mid-shaft booties but ultimately returned them. Super comfortable but the colour was more blush than I expected. Planning a hair change at my upcoming Feb 4 appt : shorter , simpler and darker. Back to square one , in other words. Thanks for reading, if you did
