<p><div><b>suntiger</b> - yes! Lots of tea flowing over here!</div><div><br /></div><div><b>taylor</b> - so hard to look cute when it's FREEZING!</div><div><br /></div><div><b>sterling</b> - thank you!</div><div><br /></div><div><b>jessikams</b> - yes, all three are really different. I am excited to see them in person.</p>
<p><b>keturah</b> - My parka works great in brutally cold or wet, but it's a hardcore coat: waterproof, turbodown, fleece lined, and long! It's too hot for days that are above ~20F degrees. I had hoped to find a more fashionable and a bit lighter option for those days that are sunny and dry, but still cold. I don't mind layering; it's the wind that's been a challenge...</p>
<p><b>Angie</b> - thank you for the recommendation! I skipped it the first go-round because of bad reviews. I just added my name to the notify list for the Alanis one in case they get it in my size. If none of these four work, I am throwing in the towel until fall! </p>

<p>I love all three! So, let me just say that I think pairing cool puffer green with warm green and brown would be unexpected and thus, fun. Colors that harmonize are always good. But sometimes it’s good to shake it up. </p>
<p>Would the faux fur be warm enough? I adore it, but it looks like it would need some layering to seal out the chill. And I love the olive wool pea coat too. I find down coats to be the warmest. I can get by with a wool coat. But for the most part, I need a good heavy down coat to stay warm. I grew up in Nebraska. We didn’t have the lake affect snow but we got some humdinger winter blizzards and below zero windchills. So I feel for you in this recent arctic blast!

<p>Those are great coats and they seem like they would fill really different purposes in your wardrobe. Will be interesting to see what you choose.</p>
<p>Stay warm over there!!

-39 is just too unbearably cold for this wimpy human .<br />
Best of luck with your coats on order, I hope there is a winner for you !

<div><b>LaPed</b> - thank you! I love green DO you think the jewel green would warm with warmer colors? And, yes, I have my super warm parka to get through brutal cold. The current temperature is minus 15F (-26C) right now, with a wind chill of minus 39F and it's supposed to get colder tonight. Local schools and many businesses are closed for the next two days, so we are staying in!</div><div><br /></div><div><b>suntiger</b> - YES! I wouldn't mind a short puffer, if I could find the right one. But, pickings are slim so I may just have to wait. Thank you for starting this challenge!<br /></div><div><br /></div>

<p>A lot of the puffers are sold out now, and the ones left are short Maybe best to hope for a short winter and wait it!

<p>I hope you have sufficient outerwear to get you through the polar vortex this week! Sounds brutal in the Upper Midwest right now. I love the look of both the bottle green puffer and the olive wool coat and see no reason why you can't have multiple greens in your wardrobe. I bet they both look amazing with your hair.

<p><div>For <b>suntiger</b>'s January Challenge, I committed to one purchase per month/12 for the year, excluding undies. </div><div><br /></div><div>I purged a lot of basic items for <a rel="nofollow" href="https://youlookfab.com/welookfab/topic/challenge-wardrobe-basics-edit-reviewhttp://">Angie's challenge</a> , 3 bags of undies, socks, and loungewear. I replaced the undies and added a few extra pair. My winter loungewear won't likely last another winter, as it's getting worn A LOT, but for now I feel sorted until I re-evaluate in the fall.</div><div><br /></div><div><b>Purchases</b>: I am still on the hunt for warm <a rel="nofollow" href="http://https://youlookfab.com/welookfab/topic/can-we-talk-outerwear">outerwear</a>. I bought - and returned - no less than 10 puffers and 3 shearling-lined aviator/biker jackets. They were either too short, not warm enough, had cheap-looking hardware, were too gear-ish, or weren't the right color. I am trying to be picky (and patient), but I am getting frustrated. </p>
<p>I have three coats on order - a bottle green puffer, an olive faux fur, and an olive wool peacoat (see finds). I like the shape and simplicity of the bottle green puffer, I just don't know how well the jewel green color will go with all the olive, navy, and browns/cognac that are my core colors for winter. If none of these work, I may postpone my search until fall.<br /></div><div><br /></div><div><br /></div><div><br /></div></p>
