Hmmm, although it's a cool piece, knowing what I do of your style I can see why it might feel a bit too maximal. Such is the nature of wild cards I suppose - they are inherently chance-y! I agree with Jussie that perhaps it's something that you need to be in right mood to wear?

I like your idea of getting the chevron piece removed from the sweater.
*Then* it looks like part of your wardrobe - to me.

Outfit 1 is so you, but that’s a whole lot of sweater in outfit 2, so I can see why you felt overwhelmed in it. I’m afraid I’m not sure what to do to make it less overwhelming for you.

Well the first outfit is a no brainer winner if that is a thing. The second piece needs some finagling but looks worth the effort.

Gosh, that’s a cool graphic sweater. The print/colours seem to suit you. But it’s that perennial problem of a statement item just being less practical…. And requiring the right mood to wear.
Fwiw I think items like this are great and a lot of fun; as long as your everyday basics are covered as a first priority, and as long as you don’t have too many statement pieces sitting largely unworn.
I vote keep and try to style for a different occasion! I don’t think it would be easy to find anything similar again….

Lol Runcarla -I put on the socks with the intention of wearing the sweater because I liked that they picked up the orange. I wasn’t sure anyone would notice
This might be better for an office or out and about day instead of a WFH.

The scarf attachment of the sweater in #2 is an integral part of the garment IMO, and I suggest keeping the sweater intact. I think you have to be in a certain mood to wear it, and agree that it might feel fussy on days when you need to get down to business. Keep it for when you want a little comfortable and casual drama - like meeting friends at an outdoor cafe or an activity at a chilly venue.

It does look like it’s within your style wheelhouse - but a statement item vs daily workhorse, IYKWIM. (I like that the socks pick up the rosy brick colour.)

Not a repeat! Might be possible to remove the scarf but it would have to be done with care. Once removed you would then have to contend with the edge and that might need some knitting! Take it to the best local yarn store in your area and ask for advice. Most good shops are staffed by problem solvers.

That is an interesting piece in #2 but I can see why it would feel a bit overwhelming. I think it would require very careful styling to work, and might work better as an outer layer? With boots, etc. to ground the look?

The cream shacket is super fab!

Is the scarf attached in #2? I can see why #1 is far less fussy - but #2 has a fab graphic integrity that you wear well :)

What a planned to wear #2, just felt to fussy. If over the weekend I wear thongs I knew were not me, but bought because loved ones liked them, this is something I bought knowing it was a stretch but I loved the way it looked. But in reality it’s just a little much for me. I think if I could take the scarf off and use it as a belt, it would work better for me. sewers/knitters do you think it’s possible? Would I take it to a tailor if not a tailor any ideas?
Anyway, it was the cream Shacket again, this time with navy leggings. Since last time I wore the Shacket it was with my leather joggers, I’m calling this not a repeat

Thanks for looking. As always all comments and suggestions are welcome and appreciated
