Glad to hear the white jeans work, Mac! But bummer about the skinnies I hope you will find a pair that works for you soon.

Okay, finally got up the courage to try on the second pair, which were called "skinny jeans" on the saks.com site. Alas, to me, they don't at all fit the description of skinnies; they're really just fit like what I'd call tapered jeans. Don't like them and will have to return them when I'm next in the US.

Why oh why is it so dang hard to get premium skinnies in Size 16?

SCORE! I ordered 2 pairs of James Jeans from Saks. They took a while to arrive here in Canada. I've only tried on 1 thus far (still nervous to try on the skinnies) and those were a well-fitting pair of straight-leg size 16 white jeans. Premium plus-sized jeans are hard to come by and I'm thrilled by these, my first pair. Hooray.

Mac, I really like James Jeans. I do not own a pair but I tried them on and loved how they usually have higher rises. The quality is definitely premium. Try them out! Those look a bit more like denim leggings than skinnies to me though. They are very form-fitting and there is no scrunch at all.

Hi Mac- Here's a possible solution to the belt issue:
http://www.invisibelt.com/

I have one of the clear ones and it is thin and flat in front and works well under tops and tunics.

Sorry I don't have any input regarding the jeans you're looking at, but hope you can find some great ones soon.

I've had some James jeans in the past- they are definitely premium. When they first came out (2004, maybe?) there was a lot of talk about the darted back pockets and how they visually "lift" your bum I don't know about that but they were good jeans- didn't stretch out much and laundered well.

Disclaimer: this was obviously ages ago and I can't even remember the style I got, so take my experience with a grain of salt!

Thanks, Marianna : ) Yeah, the Torrids are great but if i lived in the States, I'd be hunting plus-sized premiums every weekend at the outlet stores : )

I haven't heard of this brand, but my Torrid skinnies are goners. I've had them about 8 months I believe and they've stretched out and faded. I suppose for the price 8 months of wear is okay, but you're right that they're not great quality.

I have the Calvin Klein plus size skinnies in the YLF store... the quality of these seems better, but they're not really skinny on me, more straight leg. Too baggy in the legs for boots.

Otherwise, I have no input.

Hello, my dears. And happy Easter to all, even those who don't celebrate it (anyone of any faith/background is welcome to bite off chocolate bunny ears with me!)

I love skinny jeans and long to try "premium jeans" after Angie's assurance that they can be worth the money. But, as a size 16, these can be hard to find. With Marianna's sweet encouragement, I found and bought some skinnies from Torrid and love them but they do tend to stretch out quite quickly in the waist... which means I have to wear a belt to hold them up... which adds bulk around my mid-section under tunics and dresses and other long tops I wear over skinnies... and at a size 16, extra bulk is not great. i continue to wear and love my Torrid skinnies but have been hunting for other brands, too.

I found these James Jeans that are both skinnies AND come in my size. And at $168, i assume (please correct me if I'm wrong) that they're "premium." But I've never heard of this brand before. Have any of you tried them? Do you like their products? Are they decent quality, or will they fall apart in the wash?
