Thank you!! .. I didn't tally the votes but I think I'm convinced enough to try them. I completely agree that being closer to wearing actual maternity clothes makes me hyper-sensitive. My body changed so much after having kids that I continued wearing my maternity clothes long past the point where I should have. I think I'll try the leggings out first. I'll post photos too

Pear here, and I have two styles -- Malia and Peri. I posted pics of my backside in many jeans a couple of months ago, and the Jag pull-ons looked the best by far!

I consider myself fashion oriented and I got a pair of skinny fit denim leggings with an elastic waist from Karen Kane last year. I like them. I think they look great as leggings. Not jeans. Does that make sense?

Also my Mom is 79 and she has a pair of skinnies like this. She's plus sized but with long slim legs and looks fantastic. She wears them all the time.

I think this is a practical garment and think we should not be judgmental about it just because it reminds us of maternity pants or what our Moms wear.

I have worn Jag jeans for several years but they were always the zippered variety. I purchased the Malia's at this years NAS because they looked so good under tunics. My daughere balked because of the maternity issue. I think Gaylene is right about being far enough away from the child bearing years to appreciate them.

I have a pair of Jag jeans that I bought about a year ago. They are quite flattering. I hate to say this, but they do well as my "fat" day jeans. I don't think they are matronlyl. They do flatter though. Don't get carried away by preconceptions--I do wear them on normal days too.

I love them so much that I bought a second pair. They fit me better than any other jeans I've recently tried. I make sure that the top part is always covered. I have a big belly, so I fear that someone will think I'm pregnant if they see that band...

I have a pair and think they're great. I never would have tried them on, either, except that a saleslady brought them in with some ther jeans and convinced me. They're cute and comfy enough that I'm glad I got over my "old lady jeans" resistance.

I never owned maternity jeans so I don't have that association. Did they have maternity jeans 19 years ago? I own a pair of Jag jeans because they were the thickest white pair I could find that fit me in the legs. I am generally on Team Tuck or at least Team Semi-Tuck, so these jeans were a stretch for me. I had to take them in on each side because slacks, jeans, and skirts are almost always too loose at the waist on me. I did it by hand (no working sewing machine), so the alteration doesn't look the best, so I made a belt loop at the very back and bought a wide, wide belt. So now the jeans stay up over my pancake butt and they look like *normal* jeans if/when I tuck!

I only first heard of these jeans when my mom told me they were what my SIL had recently bought for her. My mom is 65, and although being born and raised in L.A., never owned a pair of jeans in her life until she was over 60. So, I'd say they are not the edge of fashion . . . but if they work for you, then why not!

I'm sitting here in my Jag Malias as we speak. Are they my only jeans--NO, but they fit into my wardrobe for two important reasons: First, they are the best jeans to wear under my slim tops because they don't have a regular waistband to create those bulges and wrinkles around my mid section (I have such a poisoned eye for that look.) Second, they are unbeatable travel jeans--comfy as sweats, but way more stylish when I wear them with a sweater and/or blazer. I can sleep in these jeans, something I can't see myself doing in my "regular" jeans. These jeans are my equivalent of sweats or yoga pants, both of which I refuse to wear in public.

Maybe I am far enough away from my child-bearing years to not think of them as maternity jeans, although I have referred to them as my "old-lady" pull ups!

I can't get over it either. I have a muffin top and I've eyed the Jag jeans, but I won't wear them. They just trigger maternity jean in my mind too. I think there are other options. You should never feel demeaned or demoralized by your jeans. They should always make you feel happy.

By the way, I say this, but I am a HUGE fan of maternity leggings from Old Navy. They are the only leggings out there with a broad, flat, no bulk, no pinch waistband. They are perfect as a layering piece. I guess that I can justify buying them because they don't really look any different than any other legging. They only look different in a way that isn't really an accommodation of my belly so much as they are a practical solution to a systemic problem with legging design. So I won't wear jeans because they remind me of maternity pants, but I will wear maternity leggings! Oh what a goofy mixed bag we humans are!

ETA: Totally want to acknowledge too that this isn't anything against Jag jeans on others! It's a weird thing. They look great on folks and I see fabulously well dressed gals wearing them. Just somehow they trigger something in me. Maybe because I wore maternity jeans pretty recently! LOL! I won't wear jeggings either for the same reason, even though they look fan-dibby-dozy-tastic on my friends. I do think it has to do with the fact that you pull them on.

I recently tried on a pair of pull-on Jag Jeans for the first time. They fit really well and I like the way they tuck in my mommy-tummy (aka muffin top). I am team no-tuck so I'm the only one who will see the waistband. My issue is really psychological... They're flattering but I just can't get over them looking like maternity jeans. Does anyone else have this issue? Should I just get over it?
