Thanks for the suggestions. I think I will just have to go and try it on and see how it fits.

I like the idea of wearing the skirt with a long sleeve T, ribbed tights and Doc Martin boots for a stompin SAHM look (I'm new to the site and not an expert). I do not know how the skirt would work on an apple but if the site has a good return policy why not give it a spin. Sometimes seeing in the flesh that something doesn't work is the only way to get a look out of your head.

I also agree with CS that the skirt may be longer on you than the model.

I don't think it is the best option for an apple because of the volume it creates around the waist.

I'm just going to give this post a bump. I was looking at the skirt again and I noticed the model was wearing oxfords. I'm not really a fan of oxfords or the schoolgirl look but maybe a wedge would work?

chewyspaghetti- I wish I could try it on, but I live 2 hours from a J. Crew. I might just wait until I make another trip to the city in September to try it on. It said on the website that the skirt was 18 in long, so that doesn't seem too short. I saw this skirt paired with textured hose and it looked nice, but I don't know what shoes I would wear with it. I'm a SAHM who live in northwestern WI so in the winter footwear becomes an issue.

You should try it on at the store and take a picture. It may not be nearly as short on you as it is on the model.

Well, I agree , cute skirt, also agree a bit too short... for me:)...you may be young and therefore I say enjoy the shorter length.

The shoes and socks they show this with is... well..schoolgirl looking. I am seeing this look alot, and with heels also, but I just can't get the enthusiasm for it. Better paired with cute flats or heels. I guess as the season continues and more cute young girls wear this socks w/ shoe look my eyes and head will adjust:)

I really like this skirt from J Crew.

http://www.jcrew.com/AST/Brows...../17445.jsp

I have three questions: 1) would this work on an apple, and 2) how would I wear this in the fall/winter? I feel like it's a bit short but maybe with some hose it might work. And 3) what shoes would work with this? I would love to hear some suggestions.
