Another thing to consider with sleeve length: if you layer bulky tops or blazers under the coat, they will probably take up some of the sleeve length. It’s a great day outside, about 47 F, so my plan is to try it as is. You all are wise. I hate wearing gloves, so it might be okay as is to add extra warmth. I think the coat is more tailored than my other puffer, which is why the length looked weird at first. </p> <p>La Ped - those were my thoughts when I tried the smaller size on at the store. It ticks all the boxes! </p> <p>Bennett - well wait till it all goes on Sale! There are so many sizing issues with J Crew these days that even sold out items pop back. The sizing for this coat, for instance, was apparently tricky for a lot of folks. Very flattering. Enjoy it. Also long sleeve girl reporting in. I like my sleeves to hit no higher than the base of the thumb fully past the wrist or as long as the first joint of the thumb. Unless they are bracelet sleeves but that’s a different matter. I had a tailor insist on hemming the sleeves of a new Reiss blazer to the wrist. I hated it so much I donated the blazer. Cautionary tale - wear your sleeves where you find them comfortable and flattering. I agree you could try wearing as- is and deciding. Also you could see if you can turn the edge up an inch, does that look “ sporty” or just daft/sloppy. AND just ask your tailor so you know the $$.<br /> The main thing for me is whether I keep wishing they were shorter so that it takes away the fabness of an item - that’s no good. Then it’s worth getting hemmed as it would be amortized over several years of great wear. For me having enough coverage on my wrists is key to feeling warm so I’m ok with it.
