Steph-I think I'd wear the hat on my SAHM days....grocery store, zoo, children's museum,etc... I've always wanted to wear one. I'm not sure if it'll work when my hair is curly. I'll have to let you guys help me decide on that one at a later date. :)

Angie-Thanks for the advice;helpful as always! I had them put everything on hold, since it's final sale, with no returns. I think I'll go back for the hat, blazer, and kelly green sweater. Since the button up would just be used for layering, I'll pass on it...I have that new shawl collar BR button up in a similar shade.
I understand what you mean about the coat...I also tried on the long tulip coat; which I loved, but will just have to save up some pennies for. I'll hold out for that one instead.

Taffy, you are a rare creature – “the hat girl”. You look sensational in a hat! Absolutely first class KILLER in that newsboy. I hope you got the hat and will wear it.

I love the velvet balzer too. Go for it!

I’d pass on the coat. You need a longer style. This length is unflattering. Does that make sene?

The shirt might look nice un-tucked or layered with something else. A GREAT colour.

I really like the green sweater on you. I own two of those sweaters (in yellow and aqua) and have been really happy with them. I don't think the belt makes you look waist-less, but you could also go without it. I never wear that sweater with a belt (although now I might go and try it).

I love the blazer on you--I'm jealous, because it looked awful on me. I would definitely keep it. And the cap is adorable. I love hats, but never wear them, because I feel like I never have an appropriate opportunity. Where would you wear the cap? Just curious--trying to figure out if I could incorporate one into my wardrobe. I definitely couldn't wear one to work.

I like the green buttoned shirt. Does it have ruffles near the top of the neckline, or is it just wrinkled (or perhaps linen)? I had a hard time figuring that out from the photo. It would also look cute under the brown blazer.

The coat is the only thing I don't like. I'm with Nicole on the sleeves (and suspect it might be difficult to make them longer). I also don't like the shape of the coat on you. All of the other items showed off your adorable figure, and I think the coat just looks kind of boxy. I know that short double-breasted coats can have that effect, and from the photo, at least, it doesn't appear that the belt does much to counteract that. Maybe something a little more structured on its own would look better (my guess is that this is kind of boxy in shape, and relies on the belt to bring it in, but it just doesn't seem to quite do the trick). It does, however, fit you really well in the shoulders.

I forgot to take off my belt in photo 1...silly... so that large bump can be removed :)

Ana- where lower would you place the flower belt? I really don't dip in much at the waist, so I'm always confused where to put belts that don't go in your belt loops! ( too many possibilities I guess..) Also that was the only color of belt left. I thought it would be a good accent color, for my 80% green wardbrobe :)

Dani & Nicole-- I didn't try the shirt untucked, but I can. It felt like it fit pretty well in the shoulders, but maybe I could have the seamstress nip in the sides a bit?

Thanks for all in input! I'm glad the cap and blazer are getting thumbs up so far :)))

Hi Taffy...Love the first sweater...not sure about the belt.

LOVE LOVE LOVE the cap! LOVE LOVE LOVE the velvet jacket. I didn't care for the flower at the closure--but that's a personal thing. Def. can be a casual piece. I think it would look too frufru if you wore it any other way.

I like the way the jacket fits--but the sleeves are too short. My mother always hems my sleeves to the to knuckle on my thumb.

Edit forgot to comment on the green shirt. Love the color. Fit looks little big?? How long is it untucked? I prefer shirts worn with jeans untucked, if they are long enough.

Taffy, looks like you had fun Here are my thoughts, for what they're worth:

1. I love the color of the sweater on you but I'm not sold on the belted look. I don't know if it's because you can see the line of the top of your jeans or if it's just the wrong colors together.

2. The cap is adorable on you! (btw...great new haircut...are you going to keep is straight?) I LOVE the flower belt with the jacket. I have the velvet jacket and am planning on wearing it strictly for casual (with jeans) so I think you'll have no problem there.

3. You sure look great in greens! I like this look on you. Did you try the flower belt with this shirt untucked?

4. The jacket fits nicely, you definitely need the sleeves let out. It fits you nicely through the shoulders, but I can't tell about where it hits you at your hips. With your arms down, how do you feel about the vertical line at the bottom of the coat? I like the general shape of the coat.

Those are some cute things! Can't wait to see what you decide!

Gosh, I'm horrible at the fitting a coat thing, so hopefully someone else will comment about that.

I LOVE the velvet jacket/flower belt/newsboy cap. The cap is SO cute on you. I love your hair, too--did you get it cut or something?

Have you tried wearing the flower belt a little lower with the merino v neck sweater? That's a great sweater, Sarbear has it in red, and it's very versatile. That green color looks great on you! Did they have any of the other colors of the flower belt left? I bet the black and cream belt would work well, too. I like the button down tucked into your jeans, because they have a higher rise. We'll see what others say, too. The cap keeps it casual, in my opinion. A statement necklace would be a nice addition--good thinking!

I stopped in at a J. Crew, and found a bunch of great stuff on sale, (which is an additional 40% off.) I could use some help deciding what are keepers. Thanks! Also debuting my new haircut and eyebrows! hee hee

1. Wool sweater with flower belt. (trying to chanel Ana!) I didn't really like this look with the pieces... I think I'd rather scrunch the sweater up above the waist of my pants and wear the flower belt there instead. Like this I think it just emphasizes my lack of a waist.
http://i277.photobucket.com/al.....CF1595.jpg

2.I'll be honest...I adored this jacket and hat. I copied the Jcrew catalog for flower placement. Do you think that a velvet jacket would have trouble looking casual? or does pairing it with jeans dress it down enough?
http://i277.photobucket.com/al.....CF1597.jpg

3. Green button up... it had a nice casual feel...what do you think of it like this? I would probably add a longer chunky necklace?
http://i277.photobucket.com/al.....CF1598.jpg

4. And the whole reason I was there...a coat. What do you think of the shape on me and the sleeve length? I can get it for $100, so if I needed to have the sleeves lengthened it would still be worth it, as long as the shape and fit are good. The J.Crew seamstress is going to look at it Monday and see if it's a possibility.
http://i277.photobucket.com/al.....CF1600.jpg
http://i277.photobucket.com/al.....CF1601.jpg

Thanks for all your help and comments!!!
