I have a couple of pair of j crew Campbell Capri wool pants I bought last year and they actually work well for me as a curvy pear shaped petite with a short torso. They are about a mid rise on me, which I like, and there was no gaping at the waist (which is rare.) the only thing I didn't like was the leg opening - I wish it was more tapered. I'll try to find my old pics and post them here for you.

I tried a pair last year. If you have any upper thigh chunk I say (from personal experience) give them a pass.

Laura, that's why I'm so hesitant! I love all the J Crew shirts I have... they end up being the ones that I reach for frequently. I was hoping that J Crew pants might have changed.

Viva, post a pic when they arrive!!

No personal experience myself. The reviews seem to suggest that they might work well for pears. Honestly, I've given up on J Crew pants, as they seem better suited for more rectangular figures. I'm sure there are exceptions, though.

JJ,
I just ordered a pair of these; they arrive next week. But I am a rectangle, so my experience won't help you.
Bumping this so that maybe someone else will see your question and help.
Vivian

Hi all- Wondering on styling/sizing for the Campbell bi-stretch capri from J Crew. Do they work on pear-shaped ladies? I have a short torso so I need relatively low-rise pants (which end up looking like mid-rise pants).

I don't have time to make it to the mall to try them, and I'd rather not go through the bother of ordering and returning if they're a no-go.

Thanks!
