Hey Gigi! It's Forever 21 if you can believe that. After reading all the replies I think I might try #1. #2 is one my eye caught under a cardigan in a Nordie's add and I couldn't get it out of my mind. But odds are I would wear it unlayered just as often as layered over, so perhaps the interesting detail would be a better bet.

If it were me, I would think about my current wardrobe and what kind of things I would wear it with. I see that the camis are of two different lengths, and you may need one length more than the other. (I am currently realizing that I have very few longer-length tops, so length issues are fresh in my mind.)

I think both of them are great, and I'm going to check out your link right now!

Another vote for #1 from me. I like the neckline, I like that you can wear a bra with it (spaghetti straps = strapless bra = uncomfortable for a long day), the detail is pretty without being girly and it looks cool.

Interesting basic sounds like the mid range she talked about. I am a geek and listed all of my clothes in the appropriate column so I knew how many basics vs mid range vs statement tops I had.

It was very clear to me why it was hard to get dressed....everything I was buying was a statement.

Good luck in your search!

I like the first one for several reasons. I think some basics *should* be more interesting - depending on how you really plan to wear them. If a cami is for under something else, well, that's easy - basic is what works. If it's a stand alone piece, than it should look like more than a cami to me and #1 does this. Plus you can wear a regular bra with #1 so it works really well on it's own.

# 1 has the "floaty" look to me, so that's another of your criteria that makes it work.

#2 looks like underwear.

Which would you go for? The one that has an interesting detail but might not work say with a faux tuck or skirts, or the basic one that would likely be easier to wear with more things? I'm torn.
