<p>Karen13 can you describe a little bit further how the belt is intended to work? I’m finding one of the reasons I’m going back to lower rise flare jeans is on account of the fact that the belting effect in the lower abdomen and back provides reinforcement for proper posture. I’m thinking that this belt does the same type of thing, but it’s hard to imagine that being useful for long periods of sitting where the chair is already defining a lot of how you sit. Thanks.

<p>I hope the belt helps you as much as it has helped me. I wear it when I am doing something that often flares my back up. Long car and plane rides, the stair stepper, classic Nordic skiing. It helps me a lot. You wear it low and snug but not tight. The serola website video was helpful for getting the placement right.</p>
<p>It actually made a recent trip to Disneyland much better for me - DD and DH like the jolting rides like Indiana Jones and Big Thunder Mountain, and I was able to ride a few times without serious regrets. Space Mountain is my favorite!</p>
<p>Take care of yourself! I have 30+ years of a low back injury that flares up with what can seem like no rhyme or reason, so sadly I have a lot of recovery experience. There can be a lot of frustration with 2 steps forward 1 step back. Sometimes the mental part is a bad as the physical, so be patient with, and kind to, yourself.

<p><div>karen, I ordered a belt that's coming today. I will report back. With my new PT, I feel like I am starting to see improvement, but I've felt that way in the past... I'm only cautiously optimistic. This time, though, I know I can't push right away (like walking 20k steps in a day). I need to build back up slowly to what activities I used to be able to do.</div><div><br /></div><div>We are going to the amusement park this weekend, but I've been told no rides for me. My hsuband will ride, and since there's a water park, I will hang out at the wave pool and lazy river, and maybe read by the pool. I do like those activities a lot, so it's not a total waste for me. However, we are big roller coaster fans, so it's a bummer for me.</div><div><br /></div><div>deb, I'm not familiar with ABC, unless it's the TV network! What is it, if not that?<br /></div><div><br /></div>

<p>This is the sacral iliac belt I have used for over a year. The sizing is a bit weird, it says small is hips up to 34”, so I ordered a medium as I’m 35-36 and it is way too big. But it still works. Watch the video - you wear it lower than you think. And it doesn’t have to be that tight. </p>
<p>I figured $50 on Amazon prime was worth a try and I am so glad I did. It has been a huge help for me. I wear it both under and over pants, I don’t find it uncomfortable, some times I forget to take it off for a few hours after I need it.</p>
<p>Feel free to pm me with questions if I can help. I’m traveling so might have a slower response time. I hope you feel better soon!

<p>Christina - I haven’t been on the forum much of late -crazy life and travel schedule. Sorry to hear about your back - low back injuries can be so frustrating!</p>
<p>I injured my SI joint over 30 years ago and have so many issues as a result. About a year ago my Pilates instructor (a very gentle Physical Therapy focused version has really helped me) suggested a Sacral Iliac Belt for me. I got one (about $50 on Amazon) and it has helped so much with certain activities that used to be impossible for me , like sitting on long airplane flights or using a stairstepper. I will try to post a link when I get back to my hotel and iPad. Maybe ask your PT if they think one might be helpful.

<p>Sorry, <b>Christina</b>, I just now saw your question. &nbsp;</p>
<p>I own many Vionics. &nbsp;I have fussy feet and do a lot of walking. &nbsp;For some reason, I couldn't upload all of them. &nbsp;</p>
<p>I own four flip flops that I wear everywhere for the exact reason you mention (two navy, one fuchsia, one silver). &nbsp;They feel like they are massaging my feet as I walk. &nbsp;I own two shoes that are work appropriate (silver and navy).&nbsp;</p>
<p>My favorite are the navy and fuchsia flip flops. They stay on my feet and I can walk for miles in them. &nbsp;The silver and navy "work" shoes are good too. &nbsp;Sometimes though I can "walk out of them" which is a bit dangerous on stairs.&nbsp;

<p><div>Yes, delurked, my feet aren't officially a narrow size, but they are on the narrow side and kind of low volume. <br /></div><div><br /></div><div>I can't believe how good these shoes feel on! The Vionics are doing slightly better at cushioning my back right now, but they are less comfortable otherwise. I'm glad I have those while my back issue resolves (if it does), and for very casual use, whereas I'll be happy to wear the Naots beyond that time.<br /></div>

<p><div><b>Thirkellgirl</b>, I do have some Tevas! MY Teva waterproof boots are my walking go-to shoe in the winter. I also have the classic sandals, which I may just leave at the family beach house this year because I use them there for the beach and water-related activities. I have some sport sandals too, which I can do light hiking in. I don't think they're as magic with my current condition as the Vionics, but I guess I haven't tried them for much city walking.<br /></div><br /><div>Anyway, I have ordered the pair below, which JAileen pointed me to. I am not really sure I should go on this amusement park trip at all, based on the recs from my new physical therapist, but we are locked in and will lose money if we don't (we postponed once already). The new PT diagnosed a problem with my SI joint, which is what I thought it was; she wants me to maintain my normal level of walking but not to go much beyond that for the time being. I may have to rent a scooter at the park... and then who knows if the rides will be good for me? Probably not. :(<br /></div>

<p>I have two pairs of Vionics (both winter-y shoes) and I wore them as long as I possibly could to work. There is only one store near me that carries any now that I can't find them at DSW anymore, and they just have sandals, so I need to order some. I've been making do with Naturalizers but Vionics are magic for me. I also had some lower back issues (I herniated a disc, then rode in a car to Wisconsin and back, oy) and these are the best shoes I've had in years. In the summer I live in Teva sandals when I'm not at work, and you might want to try those (the kind with lots of adjustable straps, not flipflops). Glad you've found something that works well for you! Back pain sucks.

<p>I had a pair of vionics a few years ago. They got flat footed me back into sandals. I always felt they were just too wide. Comfort brands always seem aimed at a wider foot. I have fallen arches but relatively slim feet. The slippers are adjustable and really good though.</p>
<p>I recently discovered Strive Shoes and bought these. Arch support but on the narrower side compared to Vionics and FitFlop. I'm very pleased with them.</p>

<p>I tried on some flatter ones today and the sole is less springy. (Maybe the kind I got has a different type of sole; I couldn’t find it anywhere but the Rack either. Or maybe because I have a platform/wedge) I think I want a dressier wedge style with a back strap, like Jaileen posted, but only if the sole is going to have that bit of give that the ones I got have.

<p>You may also wish to consider Vionic slippers for winter.&nbsp; I will say that not all Vionic sandals fit my low volume feet; some simply are too loose.&nbsp; But when they fit, they are awesome.&nbsp; &nbsp;

<p><div>delurked, that's too bad. I do see that they make insoles too (which I'm going to consider if I still need help in cooler temps). But they may well be too wide too.</div><div><br /></div><div>JAileen, I like those a lot! I am going to try to order some more so that I don't always have to change shoes, and I may consider those. I actually brought BIRKENSTOCKS to change into at work. How sad is that?! They usually do just fine for me on pavement, but I guess I need a little extra springiness right now while I'm healing.<br /></div>

<p>I have these. I think they’re pretty comfy, but they seem to have been discontinued.</p>
<p>ETA: i got these from Zappos, but QVC seems to have them. </p>

<p>I like the idea, but like fit flops, find them very wide. I’d be interested if I could find one that stays on my foot.

<p>It's interesting, because my feet are the opposite of flat. But I seem to benefit from similar footwear, who knows why. And yes, we'll have to keep track of the quality.&nbsp;
