Amen! I live in an apartment that's sandwiched between 2 of the nicest malls in Mumbai and yes it's SOOOOOO difficult! I end up there every weekend for something or the other and it's IMPOSSIBLE to ever come back home without a bunch of shopping bags - it's either too cute, or it's something new & I haven't seen before, or it's so practical or whatever....there's always an excuse in my mind for shopping... my husband's heart sinks at the time of sales, it's a never ending thing and I've just learned to make my peace with it! Lol. I do volunteer work at a second-hand and local design, all-for-charity with mostly shoes and accessories, as well as art and jackets. I suppose I'm lucky my feet are too small to fit any of the shoes in there, otherwise I think my closet would have doubled by now. Possibly the only good thing about oddly sized feet! Sharan - you crack me up! I have been there too! My previous office was in the biggest mall in this city. I was the designer at a German furniture brand and also handled the store for walk-ins. I was surrounded by top brands, I knew all SAs by name, I got the 1st call when things went on sale, and I shopped pretty much everyday. It was so so hard! Thankfully I moved into a regular office soon enough. My husband couldn't have been happier! He stated 'Atleast you'll have a salary now'. Apparently, I was spending most of what I was earning! I'm surrounded by cute clothes; I see the new stuff right away; I see when it goes on sale. Plus I get a discount! I have tried to keep my impulses in check, but it is hard! I have to remind myself, just because it's cute, and on sale, and here, doesn't mean you should buy it. It's not on your list! I am trying to make a fall/winter list and stick to it. Does anyone else work with clothing? It's tough!
