Yeah, slip and/or Static Guard. When I had long hair I used to have to carry a mini can of Static Guard and spray it on a hairbrush and brush through my hair a few times a day. Ugh, I'm probably going to have to start doing that again.

I think the silk = natural fiber, breaks up the electrostatic bonds between synthetic fibers. Or something like this.

Another way you can do it is to pin a very tiny piece of metal (ie: safety pin) to the inside hem of your skirt... or so I've heard. I've never tried this myself...

I just usually try to buy skirts with built in liners or use my silk slip.

I have used Static Guard successfully in the past, though I don't care for the smell of it.

I did when I worked and wore skirts. I had a bottle of Static Guard in my closet and in my office.

Lyn, does the slip work specifically because it is silk? It is definitely worth a try. Thanks for the suggestions everyone.

For me, it's the synthetic fibers. some tops and sweaters I can't stand wear at all unless I put my hair up. I stopped buying those types of tops

I used to love the anti-static spray when I lived in a cold weather region. It worked great on skirts and slips, and also a small spray on your hairbrush would keep your hair from going totally frizzy in the low humidity.

Oh yeah, I've found that synthetics are much worse at static than natural fibers are, generally speaking.

I have a lot of trouble with static when I wear hose + synthetic material. I have bought a silk slip to put underneath my troublesome dress and the static problem seemed to have gone away.

Is it a garment you could put a slip under?

There is also anti-static spray, although I cannot attest to how well that works!

Does anyone besides me have trouble with static cling?? This drives me nuts!! I have trouble wearing certain types of fabrics because I become a walking ball of static electricity, and look ridiculous with my clothes clinging to me for dear life. Does anyone have any suggestions for preventing or getting rid of this problem? Someone once suggested hairspray, but that doesn't seem to help at all.
