Great tip about throwing in the damp hand towel. For my kids clothes, I usually spritz them down with a water bottle then throw them in the dryer, and viola - no wrinkles.

This is good to know. I avoid the iron to the best of my ability. This will be good to practice once i've got my own dryer again. currently have to pay for the units in my apt building. ugh....a major downside to apt living.

Maya, what setting on the dryer did you use?

When you move out, will you be visiting your parents once a week for a family dinner? You could do your laundry then.

Possible to get a rental with a washer and dryer in it?

I've got to try that, Maya. I tend to put them in a cold dryer to tumble for a few minutes, then take out to hang. I like your method better.
After you move out, could you put your dry shirts in the dryer with the freshly washed towels for the same benefit? Downey wrinkle release is great. I usually use it the night before on what I'll be wearing the next day to give it plenty of time to dry, although it doesn't take much to relax the wrinkles.

I hate irons, especially with button fronts. I mostly use a steamer nowadays and only uses the iron if I need to sharpen a crease.

It is. I just wish it were sustainable for me. Works great when I'm at home but I'm still confounded by what to do when I move out. Sigh.

In one of the other threads I said I was going to try steaming my ironables in the dryer by tossing a wet hand towel in with my air dried shirts. Well I just did my first trial run and...

...no more wrinkles!

Of course they are not as crisp and pristine as if they had been perfectly pressed, but I'm ok with that. They certainly look better than they do when I attempt to iron and end up inadvertently setting existing wrinkles into place...

Anyway, if you do insist on a crisp look, it could still be a good way to cut down on time spent trying to get really stubborn wrinkles out.
