I don’t want an athletic feeling top, if you know what I mean, and most of the Spanx tops have that kind of fabrication and vibe. </p> <p>Length is a huge issue, I’m realizing. A lot of what I see is long and with a banded hem, which doesn’t work for me. But also, the very roomy cuts like Eileen Fisher don’t work well for me either — it’s like they are too unstructured! It’s gotten a bit funky and stretched out (if I scrunch the sleeves they stay super stretched), and I would love a good replacement.</p> <p>I’m having a hard time finding one! It seems so basic but sometimes that’s hard. Here are my qualifications:</p> <p>- a crew neck or moderate V neck<br /> - long sleeves (no 3/4 length) but nothing unwieldy or difficult to fit under a jacket sleeve<br /> - for the fit, something with a bit of drape, not fitted or clingy, a little boxy is ok<br /> - not long — slightly cropped is great<br /> - no tight banded bottom<br /> - opaque and not too thin — too many are so thin I can see my bra much too easily<br /> - lightweight but with a bit of body — merino is ideal, but a good quality fabrication that launders well</p> <p>I have seen one or two that are good in terms of style and quality but too warm and beigey for me. Any suggestions? </p>
