You have to go with what feels right to you when it comes to color! I agree with you on that small leopard scarf...nice colors etc but I find square scarves create a look that feels very dated to me on me. I’m not seeing that particular shade at retail yet this season. It seems to be more cognac, curry, and rust shades that I see popping up. I love those shades too, but chocolate is a perennial favorite. Last fall I saw a lot more dark chocolate and bought accordingly: wide leg trousers, a v-neck pullover, and a wool midi coat. Chocolate is well-represented in my closet, since I have many items that I’ve kept and happily worn for decades. I am happy to see chocolate brown returning, as it can be such a great neutral for all you with warm colouring, especially in fall and winter.</p> <p>I still fondly remember some of the chocolate brown items I wore in the '70s: flared pants, A-line midi skirt in a diagonal-woven fabric, belted cardigan, suede platform wedged boots, high round-toe Mary Janes, saddle bag, long velour bathrobe ... I was young and able to wear most colours then. In the meantime, my colouring has changed, and I have purged warm colours from my wardrobe, as I love how cool colours harmonize with my now very cool colouring. However, I much appreciate warm colours on others.</p> <p>Chocolate brown seems to have been away from fashion for a long time. In recent decades, there has been an overload of black and grey items, and that's sad, as we need other colours, too.
