Basically the pattern camouflages the looser weave. I think I’d personally be too nervous about a thrifted garment staying in one piece for important travel. My mom has had a number of recent EF items get worn out looking really quickly and this happens even though she is a —hand washing everything nice— kind of gal. I think she’s very sensitive to how see-through light colored clothes are these days, and she doesn’t want to have to layer under something. We got her NYDJ jeans, plus we ordered her a raincoat to her home that they didn’t have the right color and size of. (She’d tried the right size in another color.) (Edited to say that I see you did ) They have a big petite section. They do tend towards brighter colors but they do have lots of opaque cotton basics. I’m sure something there would work well for her. There’s a very versatile light blue that they are calling bluebell. It has that ability to blend like denim, without actually being denim blue. </p> <p>I’ve also gotten lots of durable cotton from h&amp;m. They are practically the only ones left with simple cotton-spandex leggings and tank tops with no modal. </p> <p>How about Ann Taylor or Loft? Also been great for me for hearty cotton garments.</p> <p>Oh and Banana Republic and Gap.
