I would take just a couple of inches of the hem maximum. Like I said in the other thread, I actually preferred my maternity dresses to hit an inch or two below the knee cap. I bought one dress early on in my pregnancy at babystyle (which sadly went out of business!) - it just hit at knee length and was adorable. I tried wearing it at 8 months and it just looked awful - think pregnant hoochie mama. Although ordinarily I prefer my dresses at knee length, I think a little extra length is more flattering when the bump gets big. Normally, I'd have it hemmed. But since the ruching on the side actually hits at my knee, I'm kind of liking the longer length. On the other hand there is so much ruching I suspect that the dress won't shorten too much as my belly grows. I think if I did get it hemmed I would only take off a couple of inches (like Ele said) to the bottom of the knee cap.
