Personally, with a narrower hip but big booty and a fuller bust, I find I like banded styles (where there's no further flare after the narrowing in) better than the tie and flare. I do have narrow hips, which might make a difference. Tops like that, as long as they don't cling, tend to hide the weight I carry in front between my breasts and my waist, as well as the tummy pooch below my waist. It seems to highlight my middle and make me look bulkier. I tend to like empire waist tops or ones that are a tiny bit fitted around the middle, then flare out. That little bit of shape, higher up, helps me create a waist.</p> <p>Updated: So funny reading other people's perspectives. I am busty but have relatively smaller hips and tops like this make me feel like I look pregnant. The one time I felt good wearing them was when I was pregnant! I love them on my friend, who is a classic pear because she can wear them looser on the top and since she has a slim middle, they don't add bulk.
