It's not a question of age, though,  it's a question of your own style and the direction you want to give it. The ties take it one step to ALGO. If this is not you, be prepared to wear it with very simple, clean lines in order to balance it out. You say you have gained weight and it is temporary. Why not have fun and explore a new style then? This has a slight bit of boho/rock style, so it just depends on whether that's a touch you'd like to bring to your outfits. Personally, lately I'm usually choosing pieces with less detail and clean lines, but my existing pieces with more details work well to complement the simpler pieces. I say, if you love it, try it out a home with the tags on with some outfit possibilities and see how it feels. I think it looks very cool. I am going back to simpler, cleaner styles ( as I have in the past during the Winter ).  My wardrobe core colors for winter are navy, charcoal, black and denim.  My accent colors, if  you will, are jewel tone blues and greens with some deep reds in there.  This would work with a lot of my wardrobe as long as the accessories were at a minimum. I may buy it, where it around the house and see how I feel.   This is not one of those "special" pieces that I would want to keep for a long time.  I am also in a situation that I have gained weight due to an injury and once I get more mobile, I may slim down again.
