As far as too trendy, I think the military look is a trend that lasts and you could keep wearing it for years. I agree that it's not trendy in a bad way at all, but to me, as a "mature" woman (ha!), I know I wouldn't feel 100% comfortable wearing it. For me, the styling does read a little young - and I can't really explain why. It has something to do with structure I think, and maybe as someone else pointed out, the frayed edges? Not that those are bad things - not at all, but I know that lately, when I wear certain styles, they just feel too young.
