The puffer looks fine, but I find it is hard to tell how "puffy" they are until tried on.

I have a hip length berry red puffer absolutley gorgeous but I never once wore it last winter because my bottom and legs got cold I always headed for my *ducking* calf length coat instead x

You are on the right track Michelle, but it needs to be knee length (I echo the others). Wait a little while longer for better stock.

Gosh. I can't believe that we are talking about puffers already.

The diagonal seams also get closer together at the waistline, which I think would be very cute on you...And the Aubergine color is gorgeous! It's very dark, kind of like a faux black...but, if you're stuck on black I understand. All of the colors have the same color of faux fur trim on the hood. It's a nice medium brown color.

Sorry, Michelle, I should have been more specific. Yes, the chevron seams are diagonal and angled downward. The horizontal seams (princess seams) give the coat a flattering shape and feminine look. Very pretty and I think that you are right, there should be a longer version coming out. It looks like it will be very warm.

D'uh these are the princess seams mentioned in the description! You're an hourglass, right Michelle. You might want to also look for ones with a belt which would help with the volume. In my case, after the cream puffer disaster, I've decided that I don't care if I look like the Michelin man as long as I stay warm!

Oh Maya, I'm not getting this exact one. I'm with you, anything less than knee length is not good enough. But I believe they have a knee-length version of this very coat coming out later, so I was just sizing up the style to see if it's worth pursuing.

My only hesitation is that puffers are basically useless unless they are knee length. Mine is close but not quite there, and even so I find myself wishing for a few more inches. I wouldn't even bother with a cropped or 3/4 length puffer because, while it may be toasty in the torso area, your legs will be cold.

Yes, the stitching is diagonal and there is also some vertical stitching that goes fully down midway between shoulder & neck. OK, I'm looking at the pics again and I think I'm lying, I think the one that I have is actually this one:

http://www.landsend.com/pp/Mor.....038;sku_0=::PVP&CM_MERCH=IDX_00008__0000000158&origin=index

I'm not at home right now so I cannot check but anyway, I think the seaming on yours might be a little more attractive because the little blocks between stitches are smaller.

Shana, thanks for the warmth endorsement. If this thing is coming to Canada, it better be able to cope with our temps! : I think Michelle and a cream puffer is a disaster waiting to happen, since I bump into and rub up against dirty city things all the time. :)
Debora, the stitching is diagonal, yes? Is the coat quilted?

BTW, I bought it because I have a very pretty cream KC puffer that looks very cute but isn't work a ^&%& when it comes to keeping me warm when it gets really cold out. The LE one is toasty in comparison!

Michelle, I have last year's version of this coat in a knee-length! I think it's not bad if I do say so myself The fur trim is a mixed brown (so not black).

Don't kill me!! I promise I'll keep this one simple. :)

I saw that Land's End has already started bringing in their winter merchandise, though it's by no means complete. I came across this chevron puffer that sounds like it may be a good style (since the LB one is gone! SOBBING!) The one I'm about to link to is shorter than what I'm after, but I believe a knee-length version will be available later. How does this style look to you? And what colour is the fir trim on the black?
http://www.landsend.com/pp/Che.....038;sku_0=::SPB&CM_MERCH=search-_-Chevron&origin=search

Thanks!
