Just a tip - I actually found a moto jacket *without* a collar - I think it looks clean and streamlined.
http://www.freepeople.com/clot.....er-jacket/

I also had a problem with too-long sleeves, so I bought the jacket size that fit my body, and then had the tailor hem the sleeves.

Good luck!

ann, i just re-reviewed your thread on conference wear. i think this topper would be fabulous with some of those dresses instead of a jacket.

Thanks for the input, everyone. The jacket is home with me to try with some of my clothes, as you suggested.

I would indeed wear it open most of the time, which is partly why I really like this one. The collar snaps down so it doesn't flop all over, like so many of the asymmetrical moto jackets do. Also, the zippers don't rub on my neck anywhere. Lastly, the sleeves are as close to the right length as I think I will ever get. Too-long sleeves are a real problem with the jackets I've tried on.

How I'll wear it: with jeans, of course, and also hoping to wear it as a topper with skirts and dress pants.

I don't have a sense of whether or not black is too harsh for my coloring. Honestly, that's not something I'd ever heard until I came here. Black has always been a wardrobe staple, and since I wear a lot of jewel tones and cool neutrals, it seems to work with most of my wardrobe. I'm not opposed to other colors, though.

I think the fit looks good, I like it best open. Will you be wearing mostly jeans and slacks with it?

nice fit...do you think the black suits you? i find black rather harsh against my face so i try to wear a scarf or top in a more flattering color with the black or choose navy or charcoal instead. how about these?

It looks really good to me but I need to see it styled. Agree with JuneBug about leaving it open. I like my jackets to be able to close but in reality I never do it.

I think this jacket looks good on you and fits well too. I read somewhere that moto jackets (and bomber too) are better suited worn open, unless you're actually wearing it while riding a motorbike! I bought a mustard cropped moto jacket recently and it fits perfectly when left open but squishes things when zipped up and realised the cropped styles are probably meant to be left open.

I'm no expert Ann, but this looks really, really good to me! Does it fit this well in the back? Maybe try on a button front shirt or light sweater underneath it to make sure you can layer the way you'll want to.

Excuse the gear, literally on way home from the gym.
What do you think of this jacket? It has several features that I like, but I don't trust my eye as to fit.
