I would pair them with jeans and casual dresses and skirts. I mean, those are not for pinstripe pencil skirts and pussy bow silky blouses. Or maybe they are. I don't know anymore, but I would stick to casual ensembles.

Oh, and btw, those are really cool if you lead a casual life.

I can vouch for the brand. Most of my tall boots are Franco Sarto, and they are still going strong after 6 years of heavy use.

I love the detail of the outside zipper. I think those would look greet with a sweater dress, or your leather skirt with tights and a chunky sweater. If most of your dressing up is at that level, you should be set.

The heel does skew it casual, but if you went dressier with the kind of heel then they would end up being "indoor boots"_ is that really what you're looking for?

(I am making assumptions about your lifestyle. But I do know your climate!)

A smoother leather, a smaller, higher heel, and non-lug sole would be dressier -- but a higher heel would not be as comfortable and a non-lug sole would be far more slippery. It's a trade-off. Those boots are not ultra casual, however; I would say they are moderately casual.

They do look like a casual boot because of the lug sole, but if you'll primary wear them with denim then it sounds like that level of casualness could be fine. If you don't skew dressy all the time, then it's probably worth splitting your "perfect boot" into one that's casual and one that's dressy

I'd go with comfort first, so my vote is yes. The rugged sole lends itself more to jeans or casual skirts and dresses, but that may fit most of your lifestyle anyway.

Not too casual for skinny jeans. If you're asking about work & dressier events then it depends on the dress code. If you could wear jeans to any of these places then these boots are fine.

I can see the boots with pants or a dress. Although they lean more toward casual than dressy, they are versatile. I like them.

I agree -- too casual for what? These boots are flexible enough to dress up or down. If you need one boot to do many things these will get the job done. You just don't seem totally convinced though.

Don't buy anything you don't LOVE. But, if these boots keep calling you from the store, go and get them.

I'm on the fence, so I'd probably pass. They're great boots, but I don't know that they're what you want. I say if you still remember them in two weeks... look again

Good point....too casual for what? I guess I'm looking for that one perfect boot. So ideally it would work with casual looks and a little dressier. But then I'm thinking what do I wear boots with? Well only skinny jeans or pants ..... I don't think I'd wear them with a leather skirt. So maybe I don't need too dressy. I think I could own these and a dressier pair, but I'm a minimalist at heart. I have to say, they are insanely comfortable though.

Rae asked exactly the question I was going to ask: too casual for what? I happily learned here that one may need many boots for many occasions!

I have these boots in black and cognac but they are last years version. I have a hard time with my narrow calves and these fit nicely and are comfortble for my problematic bunions. I wear mine mostly with jeans and ponte knit pants but have worn them with a dress and skirt on occassion. My life is very casual and they work great for me.

I tried on these boots today. They are "peak" boots by Franco Sarto...I don't know the brand or anything, but they looked nice, and the leg is nice and slim and fit perfect. I left them there though, I'm pondering them. I need new tall black boots, I usually prefer them perfectly flat, not even the little heel. I think these ones might be too casual too...what do you think? The zipper is on the outside of the boot...kind of neat, but maybe what makes them more causal. I like the toe shape though, I'm pretty picky about that.
