A slight gap could be fine, but nothing like that first pic of Jessica in your post from last year. I was just caught by the idea of a pair of suede boots that are weatherproof. I have short 'shapely' calves and it is nearly impossible to find no gap at the top. I'll throw out there that because these have a bit rugged vibe, it might be more OK than if they were polished. It also makes a difference to my eye where the top edge/gap is. Up by the knee bend and it looks funny to me. And April, you are so polished that I'd wonder. . .
