Thanks Shannon. I will wear one or two of them this week and be sure to take WIW pics. Maybe I should make it a goal to wear all three and post them on one WIW.

Thanks JOy and Mary. I am not sure I want to make stripes a signature look so perhaps I will stop now and assess the situation. Three of the ones I have use the stripes to create an illusion. The one yesterday used lighter colors on top and darker on bottom to visually balance a larger hip with a smaller chest. Another one does the same thing but with different colors and the last one has narrower stripes at the waist in B&W to make the waist darker and therefore appear smaller.

Sheila and Debora, I do love stripes too. I love polka dots as well. Perhaps it is the two color patterns or color with neutral that appeals to me.

Thanks for your input ladies. I am enjoying changing up the bags too and so far haven't forgotten anything critical. I've been using the suggestion of keeping the smaller items (my allergy pills, nail file, coldsore med, etc) in a smaller bag in the bag just to be sure.

I agree with Shannon. You can never have too many purses.

With regard to the stripes, I love them. They look fresh and incredible. However, I personally have stopped purchasing them because I was afraid everything I wore would have stripes (and that is not my signature look). I was also concerned that all the stripes I was seeing were a trend that would look dated next year. I don't know the answer to this last question and am waiting to see what 2013 brings.

However, I love the idea of making stripes your signature look if you can pull it off. I would say go for it.

I am loving stripes more than ever this year. Let's see it on you! The blue dress sounds fab, too.

No, I don't think so. But I do think that you either love 'em (and probably look great in them) or you don't. No middle ground. And I am a member of Team Stripe. Bring 'em on!!!

Not everyone can wear striped dresses like that. You should wear them and make them a fashion signature.

Never - just like there's never too many purses (at least, that's how it is in my life!).

Good for you for returning the polka dot dress - no need to keep a closet orphan when something else fantastic can fill that spot in the closet. Your other dresses sound gorgeous Dianthus and and the one you linked to is stunning! Looking forward to seeing them in action!

I decided to return the polka dot dress from this post.

http://youlookfab.com/welookfa.....pots-today

I had it for a week and still hadn't worn it yet. I had tried another dress when I bought this one and really liked it but the waist seemed just a touch lower than my waist so I left it. It was a black JNY dress in a simple cut with a 1" inset at the waist. I think it would be an all-year round dress with tights/boots/jacket in winter. I tried it again today and realized it was a bit loose in the top too so tried the next size down. it was a much better fit all around. I also tried on this dress. I had tried it once before but it seemed a bit too snug in the hip and today it looked much better. It is fitted but not tight. i already have two striped dresses but in different fabric/colors. Is this overkill?

http://www.amazon.com/gp/produ.....kiprice-20

I bought one more dress while there. It is a deep blue but not quite navy and has pick-stitched seaming at the waist, below the bust and flaring out at the hip. The pattern is designed to emphasize the waist. It fits well and I think will layer well for fall too.

It is funny how either everything fits or nothing fits. I tried one more dress in white with black vertical accents about 1/2" wide and a black belt the same width. It also had black blorder at the neck. it was quite pretty and fit fairly well but may have been just a touch snug in the shoulder. I may go back if i decide it would add to my wardrobe.
