Jenni - I’m thinking it’s because the separations were quite different and y’all are Commonwealth nations. The Queen is still a head of state figure for your countries. Off topic of the off topic... My father was from a Commonwealth realm... I could get a passport...

Sort of Off Topic, but does the US seem less like a British colony than the others ( Canada, Australia, NZ come quickly to mind) because although parts of the US were a colony, you broke away so much earlier? True story, NZ didn’t stop being a “Dominion” of the UK until after World War 2! So late.
I agree that fascinators come from a more British culture but they are a huge thing for the horse races Down Under, especially for Australia’s Melbourne Cup. So they kind of feel like ours. I think they are not at all practical but can be very pretty.

Back to say I don't see a whole lot of glam in your style, but I think of dark red lips as a glam element, and you wear that look beautifully.

I would call this capsule luxe, rather than glam. The satiny smooth fabrics and the rich hue of the browns is what make them look luxe to me. My interpretation of glam is that it is a little more showy version of luxe. If you added some faux fur edging to these pieces, or some more bold animal prints, they would be more glam in my book.

I can see you in all of these pieces, too. Luxurious fabrics and this classic color palette are both up your alley. I would consider luxe as a descriptor.

Sal, I used to be dead set against all polyester, but I have a pair of Eileen Fisher pants in polyester crepe that I really like. I think the key is that they're wide and loose, so the breathability of the fabric might not matter as much.

Thanks Joy. I like "relaxed glam" too. I think Sal has a stronger element of that in her own style than I do in mine, but I'd like to up it a bit, so maybe these (or something similar) would be a way in.

shevia, yes! That camp exhibition was great, and really made me think.

Windchime, I agree. I don't really live a glam life, but I live in a city that has it in spades, so I'd like to at least acknowledge it in some small way.

notsaf, I wish I had a little bit more rock and roll, honestly. When I can get a haircut again, I have plans for something just sliiiiiightly more edgy.

JenniNZ, it's strange that the US doesn't really have that vestige of British culture (or at least that's what I associate with fascinators and such), despite having been a colony. I'm liking the thought of "subtle boho glam," maybe?

rachylou, maybe in the same way that many of us incorporate boho over the summer, a lot of us do the same with glam as holidays approach?

Star, I really like that they're reversible too!

cindysmith, I don't think I could handle much more than "glam lite"!

Liz, I think that's true. It's more a touch of this and a touch of that with their pieces. I thought it was interesting, though, that none of their capsules really appealed to me until this one, so maybe my style has more glam than it does romantic or classic or whatnot.

The "glam" term didn't make sense to me for these clothes, and then I realized that all this company's collections had broad and generalized names (classic, retro, romantic), even though their look is fairly consistent across the board. So in comparison with their other collections, this one is the "glam" collection.

That said, the pieces look perfect for you. The colors and cuts would fit beautifully into your wardrobe, and the bits of sheen, pattern, and sheer would all add interest without fuss.

Gosh I LOVE this capsule. I would definitely get the skirt and the tank. How cool that they are reversible, two in one is a bonus! Unfortunately shipping costs are always outrageous to Bulgaria - more than the item usually. I wouldn't call these pieces glam but they do have something extra too them, maybe 'simple chic'. Is there a difference to glam and chic? Not sure :).

Now Notsaf has me wondering if you have “a little bit country, a little bit rock-and-roll” to your style Jenn!
And I have looked at your website before for your beautiful paper flowers but didn’t realise that was one on the previous avatar pic, because the pic looked dark and I thought the flowers were newspaper.
Here people wear fascinators to weddings or the races.

What an intriguing post. I jumped right to the capsule page and had a similar first impression as Angie and others above: your colors and style, perhaps glam due to the shine? Then I saw your distinction between glam and glamorous and immediately thought about the camp exhibition at the Costume Institute that made a huge impression on me (boohoo no Met this year). Anyway, something to think about. I can't make white tees work either .

I think you do.....it is a relaxed glam, and a long lines, drape, texture, minimalistic look.....not a sharp, tailored, shiny glam.....

I have two pairs of recycled plastic leggings from an Australian company (Nimble) - I really like them but think they may be a little too hot in the midsummer. Perfect for winter and the transitional seasons.

It's the first Vetta capsule collections that's really spoken to me, Suntiger

nemosmom, yup, same. See nuancedream's photo above. :) Spot on.

JenniNZ, I have a small business making paper flowers, so that's what was in my hair in that previous avatar. More of an artsy promo photo than something I actually wear.

La Pedestrienne, as always, depends on the polyester. Generally, I tolerate it better in bottoms or sleeveless tops than in sleeved pieces. The fact that Vetta uses 100% recycled polyester definitely helps alleviate the sustainability issues I have with it, though.

The colours especially look like you. Things you have worn that could look “glam” to me include the Johnny Was duster and also whatever hat or fascinator you were wearing in the previous avatar pic before the current pic.

Jenn, thanks for clarifying the difference between "glam" and "glamorous."

Suz, I love the colors! I'm on the edge of their size chart, though, so I'm not sure everything in the collection would work for me. I think the swish, drape, and shine factor is exactly what's attracting me right now.

RobinF, it definitely has some shine. And maybe leopard is a bit glam, in and of itself.

nuancedream, I think of that as "glamorous," but I associate "glam" more with Bowie-esque over-the-topness.

Angie, the only part that doesn't really appeal to me is the white t-shirt. And even that is something I like...I just haven't been able to make it work in practice. I've definitely been drawn to satin recently. Not a lot of satin occasions recently, though.

unfrumped, EF items tend to be a little less shiny in the finish, I think? I'm positive the whole capsule here wouldn't work for me, but individual pieces might. I especially like the wrap pants, the satin tank, and the polka dot dress. And the skirt, but I already have a similar one.

(more later...I'm being called away!)

What a great collection, Jenn and I could also see you in all these pieces!

I don't know that I consider that collection glam, other than maybe a bit more shine or something? Maybe it's glam in that it's not athleisure and anything other than joggers qualifies as glam these days?

My own perception of glam includes sequins, bright gold brocade, and loads of glitter - think Cher or Liberace - so take my opinion with a large (sparkly) grain of salt

Maybe it is the satin in some and the flowy+ defined waist being shown.
But certainly is not over the top in any way, has simple neutrals. So seems very wearable. And cohesive, if multiple items in the collection work for someone.
EF makes some similarly - shaped individual items but does not advertise as glam!

I think the shiny fabrics are giving the capsule a bit of glam :)

I can see you in ALL those looks Jenn, and like how you are inspired by them. Your palette!

Well, I also love everything in that Vetta capsule. Glam, for me, is putting on a pair of jeans, a dress, or a piece of jewelry that makes me feel special or extra confident. I don't take the concept of glam too seriously, but I guess having fun with fashion and style is glamorous.

I also like that capsule! Not sure I would call it glam but maybe because of the satin skirt? I like Suz's description though.
