BUT living in a cold climate as well, here is what I say: get the lighter color pair. They look TERRIFIC on you, and they create a nice contrast with the rest, which is going to add tons of oomph to your winter outfits. It's going to make everything more interesting, even the most gear-like sporty puff coat will look different. The black one are also nice but not as much of an oh-la-la effect. Get the non-black ones. Plus they look cute.<br />The black looks a little less feminine , and the casual look starts to shift into a stomp-y vixen area.&nbsp;Which is fine of course! It looks like I can’t go wrong with either. I hope to carve out some time this weekend to see which ones are easier to style with my wardrobe. I tend towards low contrast when it comes to footwear. My thinking was that brown would kind of tie in with cream bottoms (maybe white too,) various denim shades and black--whereas I would likely only wear the black boots with dark wash and black. <br />@Smittie and Celia: Thanks for the thumbs up!<br />@shedev: I *think* I’d wear the black more often because they are easy for me to style whereas I’d have to think more about how to wear the brown. <br />@Angie: Thank you for chiming in. The brown is more distressed and feels more broken in. I think that might make them more slouchy in the long run. You have the best boot collection. The only non-black tall boot I have are the burnished slate Veronicas. I used to reach for them all the time but I don’t think I’ve worn them more that a couple of times this winter. I ended up returning the ombre (good memory)--I liked them but felt they were going to be too difficult to style.<br />@rachylou: Lol.
