Thank you all so much! I feel so much better on what I am going to do. I am going to have the store order me another blazer, hopefully without the pulls. Bc it is a beautiful piece and now I know it is worth the price! Thanks so much for your feedback. I feel much better about my decision.

The cut of their suit pieces are impeccable for me and their stretch wool is very wrinkle resistant--think 8 hour flight and emerge looking sharp. I am willing to pay because I don't know of something cheaper that is equally as good at least for my body. I also have a couple of tailored beautiful shirts from them. Everything I have had for several years and looks as good as new. I actually like that the pants are not lined because they are more breathable.

The only Theory item I wear is a black dress and I've found it totally versatile and fabulous....

I also own a very nice wool glen plaid suit that does not fit me, but it's quite old and I think Theory is now owned by a different parent company so the quality may not be comparable.

I will say the style is hard to find, so that is really what you're paying for.

I vote a qualified yes. I own several pieces of Theory clothing--a few tops, several skirts, a suit, and a few dresses. However, I find that the quality can vary sometimes. I purchased a sweater dress from them a few years ago that completely pilled after two wears. If you feel that the fabric isn't nice and it has pulls already, you might want to reconsider. At the very least, I would ask the store to find another in your size that does not have pulls, or you should try to find it and order online--I don't think I would pay full price for an item that is already damaged. If you can't find it elsewhere, ask if the store will give you a discount since the item has damage.

Generally well worth it. I did buy a Theory blazer on sale one time at NM and I didn't wear it often and decided I didn't like the fabric. So, be careful if something is on sale--there might be a good reason no one wanted it. The Theory pants have definitely been worth it for me. I'll be buying a new pair come fall.

I have a few pieces by them, most notably a short light denim jacket. It's held up beautifully, and I expect to get years of wear from it.

I have on Theory BF cardigan and the material is super. The drape is nice, there is decent weight to the fabric and it has held up well for washings. Especially since it is a knit. I've tried on their suits in the past and they are quite nice, again good drape and cuts to the clothing. However, I find their summer suits are not lined, so I am waiting til fall and hoping those will be lined. (I found the blends itchy on my skin unlined) I vote yes to Theory too.

I am a HUGE Theory fan. I wear a lot of their items and have been collecting them for years because as you say - they do cost a pretty penny. The brand epitomizes "simple and clean" - impeccable workmanship and beautiful fabrics that last if you take care of them.

I find that their fit works well for my body type. So my thumbs are up, up, up. I do think that Theory is well worth it's price.

I used to buy Theory from Spiegel I think. I always bought on huge discount and never really got why it was priced so high nothing was ever lined, but they have a good look. I guess if you love it, it fits and you're willing to pay the price go for it, but if you could live without it potentially then you could wait it out and stalk the sales.

When I was at the Nordi's sale I ran across a Theory item and it was so expensive (not on sale). I have never owned a Theory clothing item and wondering if it is worth the price. It is not lined and the material wasn't the best bc it has a couple pulls in the material. But the blazer is soooooooo cute. Should I return and wait for it to go on sale?
