Oh goodness no....I have them both in 12 and 14 and wear them, as well as two sizes in the skinny slouchy jeans. As I have learned from Angie, the devil is in the details - fit and styling.

Oh good! I will definitely go try some on once I win my money for a weight-loss competition I'm in. It ends at the end of the month--just in time for some Spring shopping.

Don't sell your self short. Style is not about size at all. I have a pair of Gap BFs and I'm size 12. I have no intention to avoid participating in fashion trends simply because I'm not a size 4 (who says they get to have all the fun anyway).

Oh my goodness. NO! Any size in BF jeans is fab when the fit is spot on. It's all about the fit and not the size. We've seen size 14s rock BF jeans right here - Sveta is in a 14T from the Gap and she looks killer in them!

I have size 18 and 14 clients in BF jeans. I also have many size 10s and 12s in BF jeans. Get yourself a pair

I am an 8-10 ( previously a 22) and have issues with baggy drawers. I am preferring to wear a rolled skinny as I have a skinny fit jean in a light wash that is now much too large. So I have gone up 2 sizes on a skinny jean and prefer that look but it is similar to the BF but less full in the hip / crotch area. You may want to explore something like that. It all about fit and preference.

Size 12 is not plus. Plus sizes start at 14W and that is closer to a regular 16.

4babiesMe, I would say absolutely not. Get the right jeans, the right fit and style them right.

I usually wear a size 10 (sometimes 12) bottom and I am far from a petite waif. I recently bought my first pair of BF jeans at age 51. I went two sizes up to a 14 so they would look very, intentionally baggy/slouchy after trying on both sizes 12 and 14. In fact, without a belt I can easily slip them down right off my hips.

I though they looked good in the mirror but wasn't sure if I was kidding myself. Last week I had my conservative and quick-to-critique-me 78 year old mother over for dinner. Much to my surprise she actually commented on how much she liked them and told me they made me "look thin." She was very sincere and really meant it, I know because I pressed her on it. Believe me when I say she would have told me if she thought otherwise!

So go ahead and just try them on. They are so comfortable after wearing the form fitting jean styles for so long!

ETA: these are the BFs I bought after seeing them on forum member Sveta: http://www.amazon.com/KUT-Klot.....38;sr=1-12

I think they would be fine. As the others have said, fit is more important than size, and it's how you style them that will make the difference.

I think it has more to do with your body type than actual size. No, size 12 is certainly not "too big" for BF. I am size 2, yet you might wear them better than me!

I think the look works best on straight rectangles and gals with long legs. This said, it can also work on shorter legs and curved bodies, it all depends how you style it, what you wear on top and how many times you roll the legs up. Also, a little heel helps.

I'm a 12 and I wear them. I prefer sizing up on straights or skinnies to keep it less bulky and the wash is important. It's harder to size up on the premium brands as most go only to 31 or 32, but I like the J Crew Matchsticks best for me. Also try the Gap BFs in your normal size (they are presized to be a little slouchy) and some folks have loved the Levi's. They cannot be beat for comfort, a little style and perfect for MOTG.
And I don't think 12 is a plus size.

I wear them, and I'm a 14. Mine are not extremely baggy or distressed. I found them in J. Lo's line from Kohl's, so they weren't pricey.

It all depends on your build and the jeans themselves. Some might be perfect and some might be unflattering, but like other styles, you never know until you try them. Additionally, while many people wear their BF jeans baggy and slouchy, they can range anywhere from falling off your hips to almost body-con. Try them in your size and then try them a size or two up and see what you think; although it is not favoured as much on this forum, a lot of people wear BF jeans to fit like normal jeans. The main difference is that their BF jeans are more distressed and rolled at the hem.

Size 12 is right around average, and you are NOT too "big" to wear something like BF jeans!

sometimes a little looser can be more flattering than tight! I say go for it. Try a slightly less baggy style if it seems more comfortable for you. I have seen BF jeans on plus sizes that look great
