Well I got a lovely surprise when I got home. There was a package waiting for me from a friend who knew I was looking for hosiery and found a pair of striped tweed-look Givenchy tights for $3 at Marshalls and bought them for me!

The twisting on these was odd. I could not untwist them because they twisted the wrong way. I can't explain it well. But that is why I suspected perhaps I had them on backwards. Either way, the hole is unacceptable. I'd rather get something else with my gift card!

I've had trouble with the twisted leg on vertical-patterned stockings before. It's usually my fault, and enough effort to put them on perfectly straight tends to resolve the problem. The rip sounds like a product flaw, though. I'd try to take them back, at least for an exchange.

Run = take them back.

As for the twisting, I seem to always end up with twists and wiggles at first when I put on tights with vertical stripes. I just have to make sure I have time to adjust these before going out.

Definitely try to get a refund! I would! That's too much money to simply throw away!

Surprisingly enough, my cheap Target hose has been the best hose I've ever tried. Multiple wears and no problems.

Even if the twist isn't a flaw- they ran before you ever even wore them out. I'd take them back for sure.

The hose may have been flawed. You may have to exchange rather than get a refund, but at least you could give them another try.

I would definitely take them back. I bought a pair of hose a few months ago that were a lucious burgandy color and had a beautiful pattern on them. Also not cheap! The first time I tried to put them on, the color rubbed off all over my hands and legs! I was furious because I had to re-think my outfit at the last second, PLUS try to get the dye off of me so as not to ruin my clothes. All of this when I haven't an extra second to spare in the mornings.

I tried not to act *too* indignant when I returned them. I just explained that the dye ran and I wanted to return them. No problem!

I'd ask for sure if they would exchange them - it wouldn't hurt. I'm not sure how Macy's treats their hoisery return policy, but once I took a pair of cute sheer patterned trouser socks back to Nordstrom because I found a hole in them as soon as I removed them from the package, and they gave me another pair without question.

Oh, poor Maya! Please try to take them back and speak to customer service about them! I know how excited you were to spend that gift card on nice hosiery. Good luck!

I'm a bit ticked off today!

I wore my DK lace chain stripe hose for the first time today, or at least tried to. When I first brought it home, I only pulled it on one leg to see how it looked and I loved it. Today however when I put it on both legs, the right leg was all twisted so the stripes were straight on one leg and spiraling on the other. I had to just take them off and wear a different pair because I didn't have time to figure it out. I thought perhaps I had them on backwards though I don't think that should have made a difference and there wasn't even a label to indicate which side was "right".

I could go home and investigate further but somewhere along the line I managed to get a huge hole in them. They were the most expensive tights I got that day though so I feel like that shouldn't have hapened just from putting them on! Do you think I could get a refund? I got them at Macys with a gift card and they absorbed $20 of the $30 I had.

Hosiery is so frustrating! I'm ready to throw in the towel and just go back to my boring opaques.
