I echo Kristine, too - do NOT use hot water or hot drying on the skirt. Probably best to see a really good dry cleaner, even if just to talk with them.

Good luck!! So sorry to hear this.

If you really love this and want to salvage,I would march that directly to the cleaners. A pro can save your much loved skirt...but don't mess with it at all at home before the cleaners, just compounds the problem.

They have saved some of my favorite garments from certain destruction.

Bleaching will only yellow and ruin it

You can find the Rit dye remover on websites like Amazon. Have you tried vinegar or color safe bleach? Whatever you do, don't machine dry it otherwise you'll set the color.

As long as it i not dry clean only, the first thing I would try is soaking it overnight in distilled water. If it works, even to a degree, change out the distilled water and soak it again. Distilled water can do some amazing things without damaging fabric

I believe Angie has a blog post on it that you should search for. I think it was some kind of bleach remover? Good luck.

RIT dye makes a color remover for exactly this kind of thing. It's not bleach, so I think it'd be okay and it does a pretty good job of removing errant dye. I know for sure it'll be at a craft store, like JoAnn's, but you may be able to find it at Wal-mart (one nearby carries it, but not the other).

Okay, I was searching the net trying ot find an appropriate method to clean my skirt and I stumbled across this site. Here is my dilema....

I purchased a great, hot pink bikini and wore it without washing....I know, gross. i spent the day in and out fo the pool and at the end of the day I pulled on my favourite white denim Hurley skirt. now there are pink stains ALL over my skirt. Can I save it? I read the care instructions and it says 'do not bleach'. i figure the skirt is ruined so I will gtry anything. Can anyone suggest a cleaning method before I go the Bleach route.

Please, please help as this is a staple skirt that fits in my regular rotation!
