Anna and all you Northern Hemisphere people, why don't you search Spring 2017 Australia or NZ or Brazil or South Africa? Because our Sth Hemisphere Spring/Summer 2017-18 is not necessarily just a copy of your Spring 2017. It comes 6 months later and we do have some original designers here! The hemispheres cross-pollinate and you might find inspiration and fun.
When I travelled to San Francisco in March 2013 I found all my NZ clothes greatly admired by shop assistants! It was odd and quite gratifying!

Oh! I've been searching for spring fashion trends, but there doesn't seem to be much inspiration on the magazine rack or in stores. Everything seems to be 'end of winter sale' merch. I'm interested the lavender trend, but so far what I'm seeing looks like a repeat of last year - blush, black, and red and distressed denim (really?).

These are the two pieces I'm probably going to add. The linen trench will take me from temps in the high 40sF to high 60sF. After the temps get warmer than that I will switch to an even lighter weight flax linen topper.

The trousers will go from Spring to end of September.

These two items are an investment, but will last for years.

Think I'm all set for footwear and bags.

I'm always on the lookout for THE perfect cotton Tee...sigh

I haven’t even begun to think about spring. While we have had some cold weather here this winter, I’m still waiting for enough snow to play in. We didn’t get any real snow last year either.

For shopping, I usually wait for sales once the season has actually started. I know more is available if you start buying earlier, button budget is too limited to buy at full price unless it is a HEWI. And even then, it still needs to be fairly inexpensive.

The only spring trends I've noticed are stripes, sailor pants, and the color lavender. The stripes and sailor pants get popular every spring but they seem to be everywhere right now and I'm only mentioning lavender because the fashionistas I watch on youtube tell me it's hot. Personally, I'm not a fan of lavender so that's one I'll probably skip unless the perfect thing comes along.

I love white jeans and look forward to wearing a pair of cropped flares I picked up at the end of last summer (I also LOVE the Anthropologie white jeans Angie posted above) with some white booties I got for Christmas. I know everyone says you can wear white in the winter and I also understand the history of the no white rule BUT old fashion rules die hard and as long as my poor mama walks this earth, she'll be damned if she's gonna let me walk outta the house in white before Easter. She's fine with winter white but I kind of agree with her that these jeans and boots look more spring/summer. It's tough because here in Georgia we get little doses of spring weather in February (heck, last week it got into the 60's) and it's really tempting to pull out the spring clothes early.

I have quite a few lightweight jackets and trench coats I'm looking forward to pulling out. I recently found a sweet navy trench with white piping I can't wait to wear. It's laying in my sewing pile right now because the sleeves are too long.

My big spring want is the perfect (for me) dress. After searching for this dress for years, I've finally decided to just make the dang thing. I also had a hard time finding a pattern for it and FINALLY found a vintage pattern that fits the bill. https://www.etsy.com/listing/2.....1&

If it turns out well, I plan on making a long sleeve version for winter.

Spring in Toronto is almost non-existent, most years. Short, sporadic (usually a 3 days of springy weather followed by snow flurries or heat wave, then 2 weeks of chilly rain, repeated for 2 months) and uninspiring. I long for a bit of colour by the time winter draws to a close, but I always end up regretting the bright, cheery-coloured items I buy. Best for me to stick with my beloved drab tones and find another way to make them feel light and fresh enough for springtime.

This is a very helpful post! Spring is traditionally a hard season for me. Spring here is often very short. We go from winter, to mud season and then might get a few weeks of springlike weather before we jump into summer. I always feel challenged to add new pieces, to shed off winter and to reflect the fresh season. I crave brighter colors and patterns, but still need warmth, so I find my options limited, especially when I try to shop locally. My go to strategy is to purchase a few colored cardigans and lightweight sweaters.
I am feeling excited, because I am seeing some styles that might truly be options for me this year. I am loving the pics with long sleeves!

I have narrowish shoulders, so I love seeing stuff that broadens my shoulders (and simultaneously makes my waist look smaller). But maybe these are last year since I got them on sale?

so far the only thing I seem to be seeing consistently is lacing...lacing on the legs of jeans, lacing on the arms of tees, lacing at the waist of sweaters & sweatshirts.

I did buy a pair of paperbag waist pants last year at the gap....liked them, but sort of struggled on finding the right tops to wear it them...

I am first looking for footwear as I need some dressier more like all year round, in my climate, kind. I am looking for things like no open toe booties. Not much so far, and not seeing any new footwear trends yet. Other than that loving finding more longer dresses and skirts. Still cold shoulder and big sleeves seem to be abundant. The ripped jeans is not going away yet,,

So far not much is inspiring me. Also not seeing anything needing to be purged yet either.

I did see a bright coral sweater when I was out and about the other day -- a really pretty color that seems to be coming back. I'm always drawn to that color even though it seems entirely out of my usual color palette. But it looks great with white and/or denim, especially chambray and light blue.

Wow - Angie is collecting some beautiful items. I do think often the best clothing arrives early in the season, and so I like to shop up front. Spring clothing is always my favourite season, so very happy to see what people are posting on this thread. I am with Angie and La Ped on team turquoise too, and purchased this dress for the upcoming season.

I like the idea of paperbag waists, or just blousy high-waisted pants in general. Seeing a lot of midi skirts, belted and not. Patch pockets -- utility chic, like Rachy says. Lavender everywhere (the new pink?), and these dusty pinkish rust/terra-cotta colours I'm really digging (images are Hackwith Design House and Elizabeth Suzann; I need to find a budget version). Oh, and I'm with Angie on Team Turquoise.

ASOS had some paper bag white jeans on it's site. hmmm
Still debating the corded harem pants.
Viva- I really like that TopShop dress. Unfortunately not in my size.
I think that's the crux of the problem for me, it's finding stuff I like in my size. Plus general lack of time, energy, and mental space to go look for stuff.

This summer here there has been a lot of metallic footwear, volume, cropped tops (mostly at the waist), higher rise and interesting hair colour.

It's great to see your spring collection, Angie. Boy, am I glad to have gotten those paper-bag waist jeans at Christmas! I had no idea I was on trend with them. I'm really loving the longer dresses, just have to make sure I am wearing what I buy.

Anna, I seem to recall you were looking for paperbag waist denim? These are the ones I got -- April Trousers from a brand called Sideline. Might be worth a look.

I haven't really formulated any kind of plan for spring, but I do like this dress from Topshop.

I bought two lavender sweaters, and some crazy blue metallic kitten heel booties as my nod to spring. I have in mind to get something yellow, too. I'm also liking Angie's above ideas on long floral dresses, but would want them to be not duchess of twee but toughened up somehow. Also Tibi has got a lot of nice denim going on.

Never too early to talk about Spring 2018. Have been building and buying already. Lots of moving parts with lots of travel lies ahead for me. Will work through the shows soon - so no, you haven't missed the write-up.

REALLY feeling dresses, skirts and patterned pants. Maybe paper-bag waist. Jeans take a backseat - but not white jeans. Building Modern Retro swimwear capsule. White sunnies with prescription lenses. Lots of white with brights, blues and pastels for me - not that into the ultraviolet. Hope I can find turquoise.

The previews have been thin so far. I keep visiting the magazine stand hoping for the big spring issues to have come out... utility chic still seems on the radar tho...

So I did a blog search, but couldn't find anything for Spring 2018. Though I very well could of missed something.
Anyways, is there anything out there that peaks your interest as to spring fashions?
I've been trolling various retailers without much of anything that strikes my fancy.
