Jumper in England is a sweater, so I couldn't see a problem, we'd say pinafore or bib'n braces for the dress you pictured. I would have said it was a younger thing really but then it's how you wear something that does the trick.....if you FEEL great in an outfit I find you tend to LOOK great in it. You carry it off with the right feeling. Go with your instincts. My peeps are preppy. You see - or once saw - quite a lot of those denim jumpers (like the one in your link). Esp. with the French sailor shirt (the striped top with 3/4 length sleeves). But I've rubbed elbows with the Ruby Ridge crowd, who also wear them... but they usually do a discreet floral top, puff sleeves, and a matching denim kerchief to cover the hair. Now I live in Hipsterville, and you see them worn ironically every now and then, with Doc Marten boots (DMs) or Converse sneakers (Chucks); sometimes a kerchief is thrown in for good measure (but not a matching one). There's some mocking maybe between these sets, but they're all wearing them!
