I have to print the email confirmation for reference, and then do an Excel list and a star for each item ordered. This gets removed upon delivery so I can track separate shipments. But it's still a pain to reconcile.

I already was perplexed why the invoices with shipments never list the price. Often i want to refer to it from that ticket and not have to go back to my order online.

I'm glad you posted this because I thought it was just me. I am a one credit card and pay one bill every month person so it was a big deal for me to get a Nordstrom card this year for NAS. I am also having a difficult time verifying each charge. At one point I had to call CS because the numbers weren't adding up, it turns out for one return they credited the tax in a separate transaction, who does that? One thing that adds to the confusion is that when I order online, the tax always ends up being different when the item ships so the online order price is not the actual price. It was so confusing and taking too much time so I just gave up and am hoping it's correct. Shout out to Thistle, you are my spreadsheet idol!!!

But Thistle, yikes, you just illustrated why I can't figure it out! That is past my computer skills!

Nordstrom has a terrible billing system. I think about just using a regular charge card there, but I love getting the Notes and extra perks because I buy more and more there as quality in many of the mall stores seems to be falling

Yep, I use Excel to list out my individual purchases. Then, I can group them and color code them to match each of their shipping notices. It was the ONLY way I could make sure the bills were accurate, especially if I had returns.

I find them super confusing, too. It makes sense when I look at different shipments. But they really could be a lot more clear in this regard.

PS - was curious and looked up my statements. Interestingly, it seems like the Rack lists charges with the entire name of the item (like "Paige denim pants", or whatever) whereas items from regular Nordstrom are listed as "2 petite dresses" or something similarly vague.

Can't you just add up all the separate charges and they should come out to the original total price from your order?

I believe stores are required by law to not bill you until the item ships. Since Nordies ships from lots of different locations, those orders have to get billed separately.

This doesn't help you right now, but in the future you can just order every item separately. Free shipping, anyway.

I was really hoping that having those charges designated to one card only would make it easier to handle. Wrong!

I can't follow them and I'm usually someone who verifies every single charge and return on every credit card statement. Nordstrom statements are so confusing!

The dates match shipping I guess, not actual order date.

There is no order number included on the statements.

They continue to bill each item as it ships instead of by orders, so I have all these little charges that don't match my online order printout.

The online order printout tells total tax, not tax for each item.

Their packing slips are also all chopped up by shipping instead of order, and even if they do include item price (not all do) they rarely state actual price being billed, because they never list tax.

Bottom line, I can't for anything match what I ordered to what I am being billed for. Any hints on how to read and manage these things, or do I just give up and trust that every charge is legit and correct and just pay the bill?
