Joy, thanks, I remember your outfits--I would want to wear this with black AND with softer colors. So it would depend on how it plays.
Vix, you hear my pain!
Texstyle, I am using my fuchsia jacket regularly. It is more casual, knit and slightly shrunken--a good thing and a limiting thing.
kkards, thanks for the boost! Will see.

Hi Unfrumped --

Craving more color when one has a neutral-heavy closet can create such internal shopping conflict. [BTDT!]

Color may (and really, usually is) just as versatile as neutrals, but it's going to stand out and be more memorable given that people are used to seeing you in much less attention-getting shades.

In my experience there's a mental leap to get over that's equal parts being ok with standing out and/or not wearing an item as frequently as you would a neutral and realizing that no one really cares if it's Pink Blazer Day...again. ;)

Also in my experience -- As a recovering black-textile-a-holic, I've never regretted adding more color as long as it's one that makes me glow! So I say go for it. Try it on alone and with everything you can stand to, then make an informed choice.

[And if you can swing it and haven't tried the brand before, I'd order 2 sizes to up the odds of the right fit.]

I notice you have a deep fuchsia jacket in one of your other recent posts - is that a jacket you reach for quite often? Just curious if the similar color (I know this one is more muted of course) will be one you to want to wear often.

Do you already own a white jacket? Would a white one work with the dresses you mentioned? Just thinking that white might be more of a workhorse.

I guess I'm on the fence on this one. I'm not a big fan of this particular shade of pink. But you have different coloring and it may look fab on you so if there's no harm in trying it...

This pink blazer reminds me of my lavender blazer that I posted recently for ideas of wearing other than spring. I like it very much, but it's not a workhorse. If you wear lots of light neutrals, grey, brown and navy, it may get lots of wear, but it will BR memorable if that matters.
I understand the desire for a special workhorse jacket worth the $$$. Mine will be a blue...turquoise or cobalt maybe...that can be worn with black...someday.

Thank you for the comments and suggestions. Thank you for the vote, Angie!
I realize I posed a very nebulous question! Wouldn't cost me to try but sizkng my be funny and I would likely only order 1 at a time.

It got me thinking, about what items lead where , and why, and the happy factor vs. the "should" factor ( not re: cost per se, but thinking outside the box).

I also adore this particular shade of pink. It seems very versatile. That said, I agree with Donna that the cut feels like it would go better with pants than dresses/skirts which may limit the wearability depending on your closet.

I really like a coloured blazer. For me it's a great way to lift my black outfits. The pink colour of this blazer is quite lovely and I think it's quite a subtle shade which you are perhaps less likely to tire off. While this may not be the one, I would definitely see if you can find the right one for you. I also see these working across your work and non work wardrobes.

This is a very pretty blazer and I don't think you would grow tired of it, but to me the length and cut says "Pants only." After seeing MaryK's many outfits, I have come around to believing that color can be more versatile than neutral after neutral, but that texture (or lack thereof!) and cut/proportion can be a deal breaker in an outfit. It sounds like you want a pink jacket/blazer for both dresses/skirts and pants so I'm not sure that this is the one. But as others have said, if it doesn't hurt (i.e., cost S/H) to try, then give it a whirl.
Didn't Suz have a pink jacket that was cray workhorse material? I think a blazer in a solid and a classic cut like that will definitely be something you can wear a lot.

Can you return it? What are the shipping charges if you do? Toppers are an area I say to spend real $$ on. That and shoes and outerwear. It will make an outfit and a topper that fits and looks fab is sooooo hard to come by.

If you can return it, and if the shipping is free both ways, I say try it! If you can't return it, not worth it. If you can return it and shipping isn't free, well, you'd have to decide if it was worth the try.

Honestly, you need to try it on and see the fit. Then, you need to play with it in your closet to see if it would be a workhorse. Only after that will you know if it is worth a higher price to you.

I would think it would be easier to take a leap of faith on an item that's not blowing your whole budget. However, take that with a grain of salt from someone who absolutely can't purchase something unless it's on sale. And I am actively searching for a colored blazer!

Ja, likely this is not the investment piece I've been waiting for.

It's interesting to me to think, though--is this blazer totally random, or have I bought a dozen random items in the past few months that aren't doing anythiing special, vs. are there item like this that would have a high happiness factor ? So it gets back to possibly creating that vacuum of not adding anything for awhile, or a leaner wardrobe, to be ready for serendipity.

I had liked the color of this blazer--a cool deep pink but not fuchsia--and the fabric blend sounds like one I'd like. It's about half off, but still insanely pricey--do the prices ever come down further ?

I'm craving more color, but wonder if this would get tiresome? So I didn't even want to get near it in case it turned out to be lovely. On the realistic side, in the photos it looks to be, on the model, cut fuller in the bust and narrow through the hip--so likely is not my fit.

While this might not be "the one", the reason I was considering a more light-hearted item is that it's occurred to me that I don't need as much separation between traveling-to-work jackets and after-hours jackets, and my work jackets or blazers do not need to be totally serious. I do need to keep a couple of conservative blazers in my wardrobe to put together a serious, neutral pants or skirt outfit from time to time, but not a whole array.

The other issue is, after trying and rejecting 4 or 5 pink jackets this spring, I concluded I "need" a pink dressy-blazer for some of my dresses. However, it's likely the ideal length for that is shorter.

Step away from "submit order" box ? Make it a statement piece? Decide if it's worth my entire budget for awhile (no more oxfords? now, that's what may keep the finger off the trigger).
