I just bought one from Bosch that I am thrilled with. Unfortunately I don't think they sell irons in the U.S. The best thing about it is that it comes with a detachable plate that fits over the regular ironing plate. This has the function of protecting delicate fabrics like silk from heat but allowing the iron itself to get hot enough to use steam nevertheless. Best ironing invention ever! Maybe another brand sells something similar in the U.S. Here is an example of what I mean, FYI

I just have a basic Black & Decker one and it's been trucking along fine for years. Have you tried running vinegar through your iron in case there is mineral buildup blocking the water flow from the reservoir?

Ha, I jumped on here because I thought you were anemic! (I have a pretty good iron supplement I've used in the past.) I'll send healthy appliance vibes your way. Why not--it's that kind of day, apparently!

My iron died! My old one works great when the steam is coming out but when it's not, I might as well be ironing with my hand...and I have it set on continuous steam (I think). Do you have a good one?
