Love the capsule- agree re second pair of shoes and you could take less tops if you have laundry facilities I think -<br /> I count 13 and whilst some will be layered I think you could get by with 9 or 10. Our plan is to make use of layers ... so having a warm sweater plus the light water-resistant layer will be the equivalent of a proper coat. We're there roughly 10 days, 6 of those in the AirBnb (where I'll have access to a washer-dryer as needed), and of itinerary includes a day and a half in Dublin, then a train ride across and down to Kerry (south west) for the rest. That time will include a mix of wandering around the scenic countryside, stopping in to visit various family, our big reunion event, and a smaller event at my Aunt's to scatter my Mom's ashes.&nbsp;</p> <p>I'll wear my leggings as pants (they are a big thicker) and will also travel in them, along with my striped sweater. Coming home I'll wear whatever's clean! It's not a long flight particularly (6 hours) and coming home will be in the day so sleep is less of a priority, so not fussed to something a bit less loungey coming back. Perhaps I'll bring my black joggers also as they don't take up loads of space.</p> <p>Karie, great suggestion!</p> <p>pirouette, thank you! You'll see a fairly set colour story lol ... yes I know I know ... but honestly, I've "accidentally" been wearing about 95% black, white, gray and tan for the last few months and couldn't be happier, so there you go ... I guess the 90s minimalism trend has really spoken to my soul :D</p> <p><b>The travel scenario</b>: a few touristy days, a few family days, laying my Mom's ashes to rest, and a huge family reunion (my Mom was one of 11, and I have just short of 50 first cousins, most of whom have families ... not to mention all the 2nd+ cousins that also turn up!)</p> <p><b>The weather</b>: Think Canadian spring ... mid-to-high teens C, with light scattered showers and some sun.</p> <p><b>The dress code</b>: Aside from a smarter reunion outfit, casual will be good. Comfy shoes and light rain gear will be needed, but nothing extreme ... if it's really rainy we'll retreat to various relatives houses for warm tea and treats! :)</p> <p><b>The pieces</b>&nbsp;(note I will have access to a washer and dryer at our second location, so can always freshen a few pieces if needed. And if proper rain boots are needed, we'll borrow as these are too bulky to pack). I think this is versatile enough to dress up and down as needed, and looks somewhat polished but still be comfy for rambles, train rides, drives, town walking, etc.</p> <p>- packable light rain jacket<br />- white tank, short sleeve and long sleeve<br />- black tank, short sleeve and long sleeve<br />- gray short sleeve and long sleeve<br />- white linen button up<br />- beige cotton sweater<br />- striped thick quarter-zip sweater<br />- black thin merino sweater<br />- black "shlouse" lol (structured blouse - see Irina's post!)<br />- black leggings<br />- black jeans<br />- white jeans<br />- reunion outfit (black and white blouse, cream pants, black heels, black small purse)</p> <p>- sporty crossbody</p> <p>- black baseball cap<br />- tortoise sunnies<br />- white sneakers<br />- black belt<br />- aqua tissue-weight cashmere scarf - the one pop of colour, such as it is!<br />- I'll wear my silver hoop earring and a silver delicate pendant so I have some finished jewellery pieces</p> <p><b>Didn't make the cut<br /></b>- striped shirt dress - I don't think it will be warm enough for this to be the most sensible piece<br /><b></b>- shorts - if it does decide to get hot, I'm sure jeans and a tank will suffice; if not, I'll hit a local shop and buy a pair, or borrow. If the forecast outlook changes in the next couple days, I may stick a pair in<br />- rain boots - too bulky. My Eccos can stand up to light rain<br />- bathing suit - my family is sturdy enough to take a quick dip in the North Atlantic in 15 degree weather but I'll pass thank you!&nbsp;</p> <p>Whether you're celebrating the long weekend holidays or just enjoying an extra day or two off, hope everyone is healthy and happy and enjoying the start of summer (or winter for our southern hemisphere fabbers!) xx </p>
