I'm attaching some pics comparing the Beltaway with the Hipsi. The Hipsi is a bit pricey, so it helps to see IRL. If you are on the fence about it, and like the Amazon offerings, buy one from them as it is Prime and returnable.

Thanks Angie - I have gotten so much info from the forum, it is nice to be able to return the favor. I had planned on sharing this but got it just before I left town for two weeks and only got back yesterday, so you blog was perfect timing.

Robin - it lays very flat - the silver is 1/8 inch thick and the gold polka dot is slightly thicker. See Picture #11 for comp.

#1-5 are the Hipsi and #6-10 are the Beltaway Forgive the wrinkly linen pants (and terrifying sideviews); I promise I normally don't wear these pants tucked, but I wanted a light color to show the belts.

The Beltaway shows tiny bit less under a thin stretchy top, but is so much less attractive to my eye. I hope this comparison helps YFLers looking for options.

Thank you, Karen, for taking the time to inform us on why the Hipsi works for you. Happy it does.

Thank you for this, I have been looking for a flat belt and haven't seen these. Wish they were a bit cheaper but I might have to bite the bullet. The buckle looks a little thick, it lays flat?

I also have a hipsi that I love. I wear it mostly with things that you would wear a Beltaway with, but I like that if my belt happens to show (I reach and bend a lot a work!) it could pass for a regular belt.

I commented on today's invisbelt blog post, but thought I'd post some info and pics on my recent purchase from Hipsi. I am happy to see that Janet, Viva and UmmaLila endorse the quality because I really like the clever adjustment mechanism being on the inside of the strap, so that you can wear this showing as opposed to just hidden by a top.

In response to Angie's blog comment about why not just wear a gorgeous belt when you want to show a belt, I guess I like the the practicality and versatility of being able to change the buckle and adjust the size, depending on the rise of my pants, and being able to pack lighter when I travel. I am new to using belts and don't have very many - I may feel differently as I acquire more.

I had purchased a tan Beltaway lat year and liked the ease and practicality, but wanted something that was more attractive. I bought the Hipsi tan belt and gold/silver polka dot buckle pictured below from Amazon and they sent me a different buckle. I contacted the seller, Aly, directly and found that the wrong buckle was pictured, so she immediately sent the correct buckle and updated the Amazon site picture. I liked it so much I ordered the plain silver buckle (neither of my buckles are pictured anywhere on Amazon or website that I can find, but I had mentioned to Aly in in an email they should offer plain silver and she told me they had one).

They have a little stretch to hold things snugly, but are not as elastic/strecty as the Beltaway. I am often too bargain oriented, and I balked a bit at the price, but realized this is exactly what I was looking for, and the quality and utility would be worth it to me.

The Amazon Find is below with one set of selections; the direct website with more options is linked here:
http://www.hip2travel.com/hipsiBuckles-p/13000.htm

It isn't the easiest website to find stuff on; here is a link to a search on the their website that shows the belt and strap options: http://www.hip2travel.com/Sear.....038;Submit=

I ended up getting a custom value set where I got white, black and navy straps, and the silver belt buckle which is in my picture. So if you want something not shown as a package, definitely contact them.

After buying on both Amazon and direct from Hipsi, I would not hesitate to order directly. Customer service was excellent! Shipping super fast from Washington State, I believe.
