I'm boggled that this site says the IT is the "second-best" body type because I just HATE being an IT! I always feel so matronly wih my gigantic bosom!

Although I must say I rocked the 80s with the shoulder pads and pegged pants! LOL

Searching for how to dress my IT shape is how I found YLF. I was so frustrated shopping and wasn't sure why. I came to realize that I'm unusually high waisted as well, that magnifies the problem. I too gravitated naturally to shapes that are best for me, longer tops, jackets, low slung belt, flares, A-lines, v-necks. But having guidelines really helps to zero in on the right styles and shapes. Less time and money wasted shopping for sure! Yeah!

Thanks AG. I'm an IT too and have learned many of these tips simply by trial & error over the years. Of course if I had found something like this many years ago, I could have saved myself some grief and lots of closet orphans!

Amazing how that happens isn't it? I've realized the same thing - instinctually, I've known (at least with certain clothing items) what works on my body type and what does not. (That website is kind of fun!)

So aside from Angie's hugely helpful post, I found this very brief discussion claiming that IT is the "second best" after hourglass. Fie on any ranking of body types!

http://www.style-makeover-hq.c.....shape.html

What I found interesting is that I have naturally veered toward the recommendations, whether or not they are in style. I have always liked wide-leg pants and printed a-line skirts, cut-in shoulders, avoided high necklines.

See (MaryK), I'm doing homework too!
