He's only got 3 legs from a bout with cancer, but he's been going strong one those 3 legs for 4 years now. What a wonderful collection of pets we have. I loved seeing every one of them. </p> <p>You see my kitty in my avatar but here is a full photo. She was a rescue kitty born to a feral mother who deserted them. The babies eyes were just opening so a wonderful volunteer took care of them until they could be adopted. Three of them joined us when a neighbor's barn cat deposited her kittens on our roof. They have all died except one, Jasmine, who is now 19 1/2 years old. Every night we give her fluids by injection to keep her going. We've done this for 2 1/2 years now. She is a Siamese mix. </p> <p>We now live in the city and are limited to three pets. After our last roof cat died two years ago we adopted two black kittens from the animal shelter. We were going to adopt one, but we found out that people are still superstitious and won't take black cats. We said we'd take two. These two, Jett and Sharkie, are about 2 months apart. Sharkie is the male, named after a certain hockey mascot, and Jett the female. </p> <p>It took some time for Jasmine to get used to the kittens, but they have revived her. </p> <p>Jett has the round green eyes, Sharkie the yellow "Robert Mitchum eyes." We found her in the engine compartment of a car at our shop. She was super tiny and ferrel. I took her home for the weekend (found on a Friday) and she's been with us since. She's still not the most friendly cat.
