Without knowing your style, it's a bit harder to comment, but I'm also going to jump in with a vote for the EF to stay and the sweater to go. I'd also consider keeping the boots as long as they don't feel too constricting. I've found that the tops of leather boots do tend to stretch over time. And a definite yes to the booties! I've a similar pair of Clarks in dark grey that I bought in the UK a year ago that turned out to be a total workhorse.

Oh, and welcome to the forum!

Welcome! I love both boots and the dress. I think the Mooz will stretch in the calf a bit as you wear them.

And another welcome from me!

I also can't see the Miz Mooz boots well enough to assess the fit. But the frock and booties look stellar!

I vote return the sweater. It looks like you might be in-between sizes.

PB: Welcome! The first WIW is always a bit scary, but the more you do them, particularly in the beginning, the more helpful the forum can be. We start to know your closet and your style and become better guides!

I love the boots! I would wear around the house a bit to see if they loosen up. I have 16" calves, so I'm dealing with this too. The Clarks look perfect, but I've seen the Toms online, and was drawn to them, too.

You seem unsure about the EF. Would a different color be better? Perhaps a deep burgundy, navy or grey?

Do you have any "easy" jackets in your wardrobe? I know you're anticipating another pregnancy, but a "boyfriend" style might give a little more structure in your silhouettes while accommodating at least the first half of pregnancy without binding.

I like the sweater in #1 but agree with others, it looks a tad too big in size.

For the boots, when you sit down, so they dig into your leg, if so return, if not, then the fit may be ok. I'm curious what others think. You may need to post a boot thread on it's own with a few photos to get more comments on the fit from better eyes than mine.

That drapey EF piece is lovely on you, I hope you keep it. And we are booties twins, I also picked up the Clarks Rosepoint Dews. They were pretty comfy considering the heel height.

Thanks everyone for the warm welcome!

I will reconsider the EF sweater since you all seem to like it so much. I can sure see it being comfortable this winter especially for my office days.

The boots are tight but are quite comfortable. I wonder how much they would stretch? I do really like them otherwise.

I do wear color, I promise! I'm not sure why everything there is grey or black. My favorite color is olive green since it brings out my greenish eyes.

I'll try to post some WIW in the future.

Welcome! I have a 2 year old as well and rock (or try to) the MOTG weekend outfits. Congrats on doing the WIW post. I agree with the comments earlier on this thread and 2nd the suggestion for possibly experimenting with color, if you're up for it Of course we don't really get a good idea of your wardrobe by a few pics, right?

Welcome! You sound super accomplished and I can imagine you have a busy life. I like everything you picked. I do like the EF tunic dress a lot, I think it will grow on you and you will reach for it frequently. It is so easy to just throw it on and there you go, you look sleek and the quality of her pieces always make an understated type of statement.

I love all of your footwear choices too, especially the Clarks. I tend to think that if you are struggling with a fit aspect of the tall boots, though, you might want to consider looking for a different pair.

Hi and welcome :) I thinkt he sweater looks nice and creates quite a slimming effect. The boots are stunning but if they are not fitting and are not comfortable then I think they should go back. The tunic/dress is gorgeous and looks great on you. I think it is elegant and can be dressed up or down. That would be a workhorse in my closet :) The booties are gorgeous and again if they are comfy I would keep.

Welcome! I agree with Suz. I think the Fair Isle sweater looks fine a bit oversized. I could also see its length being a plus if you wear it while pregnant. I love the total look in 4/5. It looks comfortable but sophisticated.

Welcome to the wonderful world of WIWs. You have probably already noticed that you are not the only doctor in the house! We have some great surgeon (and other doc) style here. (And other health care worker style as well!)

Doesn't that Rubbish sweater have a sort of dropped shoulder detail? That could be throwing us off. It's tough to see here. If it feels comfy and you love it and the price is right...keep!

Love the Clark's booties and you look great in the EF with those.

As for the boots, it's possible the tops could be stretched enough to make them work for you. They do look a bit tight to me, but again, it is tough to see the details.

Looking forward to getting to know your style!

Welcome. The Eileen Fisher dress looks really comfortable and I think you can add color, necklace or tights, to change it up. I wanted those boots so bad but the heel was too high for me. The detailing on them is nice. Too bad they will not wok for you. Can you get them stretched in the area they are too tight?

I like the sweater but do feel it's a little long. Like the booties. And like you feel somewhat meh about the tunic. I feel it's kinda just hanging there not doing anything.

Hi All,

I've been reading this forum for a few weeks now and I've finally gotten up the nerve to post some photos. A bit of background - I'm a busy working mom of a 2 year old. I am an eye surgeon so I wear scrubs to work 2-3 days a week but need to look professional though not necessarily formal for my clinic days (1 day per week) and look professional but be comfortable for my research days (1-2 days per week). And then on the weekends I'm MOTG. Since I had my son 2 years ago I'm still up 20-25 lbs from my pre-pregnancy weight and I've had a really hard time adjusting. I used to be a very definite pear and now I have some apple tendencies thrown in. We're currently trying for #2 baby so I want any purchases I keep to be maternity friendly...though I hope I don't jinx myself for doing that!

I used Angie's picks to shop the NAS. Any input on what should stay and what should go back?

#4-5 is the Clarks Rosepoint Dew bootie in black and Eileen Fisher Merino Jersey Dress. I could be convinced to keep the dress, and it certainly would work for maternity, but I feel a little "meh" about it and it is sort of pricey. I love the booties but I'm waiting on some similar Toms to see which ones I like better.

I'm looking forward to your input and I hope I can contribute something useful soon! I don't want to sway anyone with uninformed opinions in the meantime though.
