I'd also consider keeping the boots as long as they don't feel too constricting. I've found that the tops of leather boots do tend to stretch over time. And a definite yes to the booties! I've a similar pair of Clarks in dark grey that I bought in the UK a year ago that turned out to be a total workhorse. I love the boots!  I would wear around the house a bit to see if they loosen up.  I have 16" calves, so I'm dealing with this too.  The Clarks look perfect, but I've seen the Toms online, and was drawn to them, too. You seem unsure about the EF.  Would a different color be better?  Perhaps a deep burgundy, navy or grey?  Do you have any "easy" jackets in your wardrobe?  I know you're anticipating another pregnancy, but a "boyfriend" style might give a little more structure in your silhouettes while accommodating at least the first half of pregnancy without binding. I will reconsider the EF sweater since you all seem to like it so much.  I can sure see it being comfortable this winter especially for my office days. The boots are tight but are quite comfortable.  I wonder how much they would stretch?  I do really like them otherwise. I love all of your footwear choices too, especially the Clarks.  I tend to think that if you are struggling with a fit aspect of the tall boots, though, you might want to consider looking for a different pair. (And other health care worker style as well!)  Doesn't that Rubbish sweater have a sort of dropped shoulder detail? That could be throwing us off. It's tough to see here. If it feels comfy and you love it and the price is right...keep!  Love the Clark's booties and you look great in the EF with those.  As for the boots, it's possible the tops could be stretched enough to make them work for you.
