Ah ha, Tam. I'll have to call you shortie from now on :-)

Go with the 10's. I think they'll work with insoles if they're roomy.

Aww thanks for making me feel better Angie I know they aren't too big since I can wear standard shoes. I'm actually one of the shortest females on my Mum's side - my grandmother, most of my aunts and cousins are all over 6 foot, so at 5"8 I'm a shrimp compared to them. All of them struggle to find shoes, my grandmother even resorts to mens shoes sometimes!

To be honest I'm still a bit confused. My sneakers range from 9-10s US sizing. I'd like to go with 9.5s in the Swanns to split the difference, but no-one has any in stock. Argh!! Maybe I should go with the 10s - better to be too big than too small, isn't it?

You don’t have big feet, Tam. You’re a tall girl and your foot size sounds spot on. For 5ft 6, I actually have small feet. Asian genes.

I take a US 6.5 in almost everything accept Stuart Weitzman, where I size up to 7. I always wear Euro 37. In Converse I actually size down to a US 6 (ladies size). The Swanns are true to size and 6.5 fits me perfectly. I don’t know if I’ve helped at all

Wow I do have big feet, huh Angie. Do you wear the same size in cons and Swanns or do you size up your Swanns??

I think you would take a US size 10 or 10,5 Tam.

Hi Tam

I just had a look at my Converse and both the UK and US size is mentioned. Could you recheck and see if the US sizes are in yours too, and then you could go with the size that feels more comfortable.

I can't help you with the Swanns, I've never seen them here;-)

Alright I just went and looked in my wardrobe. My 2 pairs of cons are sized US 7 and 7.5 mens, so that's 9 and 9.5 US womens right? I think the 7.5s are slightly more comfy, but I really can't tell much difference to be honest (I didn't realise they were different sizes before that exercise!)

How do people think the fit of Swanns compares to Cons in terms of sizing??

Hmm, I found them to run on the big side so I would try the 9's. They were basically true to size though, so they might be a little small. Perhaps you can get them stretched.

Thanks for that Tanya and Maya! I'm still in a dilemna though. DSW has this pair available in a 9 or a 10 (no 9.5)

http://www.dsw.com/dsw_shoes/c.....dId=177123

Which should I go for do you think?? Do these shoes run a bit big or small??

Tam, my friend from Australia asked me to order some Vans for her a while ago and she takes the same size in US sizes as she does in Aussie sizes, so your Australian shoe size is probably the same as your US shoe size.

Well, the only helpful bit of info I can offer is that my Docs are UK size 6 (EU 39), and in US I am size 8, all of my Me Too's are 8.

So based on that I'd say that you should be 9-9.5 in US sizes.

So in my quest for comfy shoes, I'm considering buying some Me-Toos online. Hopefully I can find a site other than zappos that ships internationally as I don't want to fork out $60 just for shipping!!!

Anyway step 1 is working out my size. I'm getting terribly confused!!

I'm an Aussie size 9 - 9.5 (depending on the shoe). Eu 41 would be my average. And my docs are UK 7 (though that could be UK mens sizing??)

So how do I convert that to US?

Measuring my feet according to this chart on overstock:

http://www.overstock.com/women.....guide.html

I'm size 9.5 US as well. However looking at their conversion table

http://www.overstock.com/inter.....guide.html

I could be either size US 10 or 11 (wow that sounds massive!!)

Does anyone have any experience with US/UK conversion - am I completely off the mark here??
