&#060;p&#062;It's rather long but worth the read.  I think this article brings up a point that is often lost in discussions of cultural appropriation - that the line between straight out appropriation of another culture's themes (i.e. UO and its &#034;Navajo&#034; line) and the usage of those themes to market TO that particular culture (i.e. Pendleton blankets) is often not very clear at all.  I suspect a lot of the difference has to do with respect, which is obvious with the UO line, but this is a lot murkier when dealing with, for example, the new Pendleton collaborations talked about in this article.
