Not that I haven’t both together, but much of the color / pattern intent is lost. </p> <p>I say this because I have a number of plain sweaters and tops and even jackets, that at times I think are not enough “ best face color” and/ or need something added, but are very good styles, fabrics, comfortable, work with various bottoms.<br /> I have curated a scarf collection in colors and patterns I love to wear with these tops &amp; jackets -but am not getting much use and fun out of them now. So at times this year am tempted to wonder whether the basic item or neutral color is doing me any good and am at risk of fits of wardrobe- culling of items that in perhaps a year will be able to be used just as originally intended. The great thing about the shoe storage is that the shelves can be moved — in the summer, I put the tall boots away (storage boxes for out of season footwear are up high in the closet), and move shelves back into that space to hold sandals and sneakers instead. That closet has come a long way since we moved in 14 years ago. It was carpeted with nasty old carpet, and ill-placed wire shelves and hanging rods, all on one level (even though the closet has steeply angled ceilings and using the vertical space is so much more efficient). It’s a pretty warm coat, and last winter was mild. But if I don’t layer up or wear something too warm underneath, it’s pretty comfortable. </p> <p>Unlike Denise, I don’t wear pastels well, unless it’s pale green or blue or some shade in between. But I nodded to the black-pastel combo by wearing the pale blue cashmere scarf from Uniqlo last year, and added the blue camo cashmere beanie.</p> <p>Underneath is just a basic outfit — AG Harper straights (uncuffed for a change, and a black lightweight sweater. Added the necklace my husband gave me for Christmas since the neckline of this top plays well with it, and the lug platform suede booties that I am loving so much. The finish on the ever-present metallic backpack is getting a bit beat-up, but I love this bag, it’s perfect for pandemic era outings. From six feet away, no one can tell it’s beat up but me!</p> <p>Worn today to go to the studio and make a print for a client, and run to the post office and stop in a couple of stores for some random items (birthday cards and such). I ended up finding this rug for $30 for our walk-in closet. I don’t know why I never thought to put a rug in there until now, but we love it! </p>
