I also have a version in black wool, and it is so warm that it has to be below freezing point to wear it. This one is in a heavy, structured cotton (twill, I think). I sense that the new coat and this skirt are friends already:)</p> <p>I hear you about the boots. My brown booties would probably look more modern, and I will try a version with those, too. I have worn them so much lately that I crave a little variation by now. I could also add a scarf, but then the stripes will disappear when the coat is on. I'm not sure how unexpected this looks, though! The skirt has been a favorite of mine for many seasons, but I have worn it less recently. The buttons can be worn both at the front or at the back for different looks. I think they add some interest when worn in the front. Does the skirt look dated? I'm not really sure about that.</p> <p>I kept the outfit free of jewelry for a pretty casual look, and I like the structured red coat with both the shapes and the colors. Since we're in November and the first snow already has been here, I also included a photo with a beanie/hat - what do you think? </p>
