It is lihe experimenting until a pattern emerges.<br /> I am still learning and not as focused as I’d kind to be.<br /> One thing that helps is to be able to shop to try on things without buying. Despite my Big Mall lament, I did try on some different brands and items and tried to use as a “ free” learning experience.<br /> I am drawn in by some things at Talbots, in particular, sweaters and other tops, but have learned that there are a couple of styles or shapes that can really help me, and then there is Everything Else, even though some of the latter are in good colors and prints. Since renewing my relationship with fashion, after years of neglect and, quite frankly, apathy, I am feeling sooo much better about my wardrobe, how I’m looking in general and consequently the part of myself which I present to the world. This version of Susan 2.0, at least in part, coincides with my discovery of YLF, and for that I am very grateful.</p> <p>Though as a result of this fairly recent “renaissance” I have fallen victim to over purchasing. A part time job at Talbots (which provides me with an amazing discount!) certainly has not helped but I’m now realizing that I have FAR more clothes than I need and not all of them have been the best purchases. Another realization is just because something is “cute” or “would look great on me” or is a “fabulous deal” doesn’t mean that I need it, that I have a place or reason to wear it or that it would even work that well with everything else that I have going on.</p> <p>I’ve always had a certain style of my own but had never considered the factors that affect it, like really analyzing my body type or how best to dress it. I still haven’t set, at least formally, any annual style goals but it’s something that’s now on my radar. I am without a fashion moniker but am working to figure that one out as well. It is because of following YLF that I am now at least aware of these things, will work to chip away at them and I know that my fashion/style journey has forever been changed by my being a part of this community.</p> <p>And it is with great trepidation that I share, along with this confessional of sorts, my first WIW photo from last week . . . . not a great pic (will work on that, TorontoGirl), nothing special but very, very typical of my casual look that works with my casual life. </p>
