I like elements of that spread -- the varsity jacket, pins, etc. Interesting silhouette, but you won't see me emphasizing my upper thigh as a "narrow point" anytime soon. ;-)

Agree with Anna about the cigarettes, and I'm also terribly distracted by the hair. Gah. We finally got my stepson to stop with the matted, not-even-dreads look. It's just not appealing to my eye at all, even though *real* dreads can be cool.

In other news, I am old. :-/

To my eye, the socks and loafers are two details too much. I would let the coat and skirt play center stage. Or, do the skirt, socks and loafers but with a really simple fitted top, so the bottom part is the star.

Hi Jenava! i love the shoes as well! to my eye a one or one and a half inch heel (which is what i'm guessing is the height on those shoes) is different than, say, a ballet flat. And i've found that even that much of a heel helps to pull off these more exaggerated silhouettes.

Hope that makes more sense! steph

Mrs. E, the flat shoe is actually one of the things I like about the look, so I wouldn't add a heel...

oooh, yum! great silhouette! i've found a couple of key concepts help when pulling off these exaggerated shapes. First, a heel always helps. Second, make certain to create one very fitted part of the look - here it's the top of the thigh.

Generally it's somewhere between the bust to just below the knees - but wherever you choose, if you reveal and define your figure somewhere along there it will keep the overall look from being so overwhelming. That said, you may have the most success at first if you try a look where the 'skinny part' is a part of your figure that you feel comfortable emphasizing.

Have fun! i love these unusual shapes.....steph

The silhouette is pretty for sure, Jenava.

And loafers rock! I can't wait to get a pair.

A very eye catching silhouette. I would love to see your version of this Jenava:). It is weird but appealing at the same time.

You're right - it's an interesting look! Mix of very masculine and very feminine. Annagybe, I totally agree with you!

The shape of this outfit is weird, but I find it very interesting. I wonder how I can incorporate interesting shapes and proportions into my outfits. I particularly like the flared hem with the flat tasseled oxfords.
