My insoles went 3/4 of the length of the sandal as I didn't want any pressure around the toes. I found if the back heel portion is long enough toward the front of the shoe the insole is mostly hidden. Otherwise it bothers me if they show. I was kind of surprised how much I liked them (added to a pair before using in Vegas, and think they actually helped without sliding too much).
